Oxa,
Well done (excuse the pun) for setting this up so professionally. My concern is whether people will be willing to enter if their hard work developing the triggers and the concepts behind them will be made public.
Let's see, and hope they do.

Alfaman, the triggers themselves will not be made public. Only some brief information that will classify the trigger (e.g. "Backing on the underdog in tennis matches").
Let's admit, if we keep everything in secret, what's the fun?
On the other hand we respect the efforts that people will put into this, so the files they'll send for testing will not be seen by anyone except the testers.

Great Idea ! I will cobble together one of my less disastrous triggers and submit and keep my fingers crossed for the trial period………. Thanks for the initiative Andy

Great Idea, this is very smart way to find out customer's real needs and improve the next version of MFPro. I am very curious how many user will share there secrets and submit there trading ideas. To all who are afraid of sharing their ideas: If is NO secret at all if you tell your base strategy because you can make profit with almost every kind of strategy. Success and failure depends on small details, i.e. stop loss levels, entry points, ... and these details will not shown to public. 2 questions about the rules: How long will the triggers run? It does not make sense to submit a tennis inplay trigger which performs best in a close tie break, if trigger execution time is limited to 1 hour. If I submit more than 1 set of triggers, are there any limitions about the strategy? I guess it is not allowed to submit the same trigger file 8 times to increase the chance to win?

Martin, each set of trigger can and will be tested during three days. The exact timeframe within which the triggers should be tested can be agreed with the participant who sends the triggers. I.e., if you tell us that your trigger needs to be tested in the morning, in that and this market, we will see to it, as long as the circumstances allow. If I submit more than 1 set of triggers, are there any limitions about the strategy? I guess it is not allowed to submit the same trigger file 8 times to increase the chance to win?
Personally I can't see how the same trigger can increase the chances of winning, as it will return exactly the same results as the other 7 instances you'll submit.

Oxa, thanks for your response.
Personally I can't see how the same trigger can increase the chances of winning, as it will return exactly the same results as the other 7 instances you'll submit.
Not the same trigger. But modified instances of the same trigger, doing the opposite action. Trigger 1 does a back bet, trigger 2 does a lay bet on the same market with 2 selections. If odds are at even, profit of winning trigger is 1000 because one of these bets must win.
With 4 trigger files, all 4 trigger files bet on the same 2 markets, on second market after 1 market was settled.
Trigger 1: back on market 1, back on market 2 Trigger 2: back on market 1, lay on market 2 Trigger 3: lay on market 1, back on market 2 Trigger 4: lay on market 1, lay on market 2
Again, any of these triggers must win, profit of winning triggers is 3000 if odds are at even and full bank for every bet.
I don't think that you will support this cheat.

Good point Martin...... But surely you cannot believe that there is anyone out there who would consider such a scenario! Is it really possible that someone could cheat their way into getting their hands on this book?

Martin, we will consider your concern. I'm sure however that no one will cheat, at least in the first battle.

betfair winner, for me the value of the book is not so important, it is the glory of winning and the thrill how will my trigger perform in comparison of other users triggers. And I do not like to get beaten by any trigger written just to obey the rules but cannot be used in real life. I will change some parameters of my trigger file just for the battle, to use the availiable test funds, efficiency formula and refreshing funds optimal. But this is a minor change, like a change if reals real funds alter big win or big loss or a change to tweak the trigger parameters according market properies.

Hi Martin Unless there are numerous players out there keeping their cards firmly pressed against their bosom; there could be only a handful of entries as this thread is somewhat light on comment thus far. Hey ho....... you never know, a loss over the trial could even win it! Good luck you Martin it sounds like you have some idea of what you are doing. All the best Andy

Just a quick question I see the bank is only 2000 is it possible to submit another set of triggers which do a different job to avoid over stretching the bank? Thanks Andy
