Hi Alfa man
Whaahooooo!!!!!!!!
What a belter of a day that was you had in the competition today. You must be over the moon with that run of results?
You have almost done a Tiger and made the cut after the disaster of the first day.
By my calculations +985 on the final day should overtake me and almost certainly win this thing.......How exciting is this!
Good work Alfaman I knew you could turn this around
Now I have to try and work out how you did it.....hmmmmmmm
Good luck sir and brilliant work

Alfaman
on a more serious note I too have been struggling with the same problem as you in the duplicate bet department.
I have tried all manor of fixes and when i check the log it always says the number of matched bets is 0 and (when there is one there) and places the bet.
I have now put in about 6 different conditions that all amount to the same thing and I still get duplicate bets.
If Oxa can find a solution to this I would definitely by her a drink!  Kiss

With all todays horse racing cancelled, presumably my two triggers for testing today will be re scheduled?
Thanks

Hi all,

I have some news for you.

First of all, as you know all races were cancelled yesterday, I didn't have a chance to find out why.

Thus we have to reschedule those triggers that were to be tested yesterday.

Secondly, Alfaman, please accept our apologies: it has turned out that on your first day of testing we accidentally replaced the file with your settings to default settings. So I believe it is only fair that we cancel that day and do it again.

BF Winner: the list of your matched and unmatched bets is updated every several seconds, based on the setting called "Update list of bets" in "Betting Options". The bigger is the number there, the less frequently your bets are downloaded, and thus the bigger is the probability that MF Pro will place the same bets again if your trigger implies that (for instance, if it is repeated faster than the number of seconds in that setting).

What happened with Alfaman on the first day of testing is that his bets were updated once in 3 sec instead of 1 sec as he stipulated.

For everyone else's information:

One of the most popular problem with the submitted triggers is that they place a bet without expecting it to stay unmatched. This especially is the case in-play: the 3 sec delay makes it impossible for a bet to be matched at the price offered.
So just for the future: think about offering a price slightly worse than the current one, if your strategy allows that.

Overall, I am very much pleased with the level of competitors' experience and the sophistication of the triggers.  Cool

Oxa et al,

I feel I must say a big thank you, not just for offering to rerun my trigger (which is very generous considering the work it gives you) but for running such a well organised competition.

I know I am not alone in gettnig a good degree of pleasure out of it but also it gives people an insight of what other people are up to and what results they are getting - and I am not just saying that because I am back in the running (possibly).  Until now we've all been a little in the dark!

Thanks

Alfaman, thank you for those kind words, there are some discrepancies in the competition and certain things that we would be happy to avoid, but this is the first time, so we will most probably try to remove them in the next competition.

Anyway, I like your triggers so will keep fingers crossed for you.

But based on today's first results I would like to give you a friendly advice.

We have now kept the "Update list of bets once in 1 sec" setting, but the triggers keep betting multiple bets, and here's why:

You might not take into account the fact that each bet is delayed by 3 sec to imitate probable delay during the In-Play. This means that even though the list of bets is updated every 1 sec, the bet will not be there until 3 sec have passed. As refresh rate of the market is 0.5 sec, the trigger will try to bet every 0.5 sec, and it will do so based on the old list of bets. So the condition it checks (whether there are other bets in the market) will return zero bets until the new bets have arrived.

Thought I should let you know that...

Thanks,

I agree,  I'll consider that.  I don't mind multiple bets as long as they win!
