NEW V7 so i need a new computer?

Ok I am now running 2 accounts on my PC running XP and 2 accounts on my Laptop running windows 7. However with V7 almost ready, i want to upgrade to a single PC capable of handling all 4 platforms on one PC simultaneously.
Would you advise .........
1   XP or windows 7?
2   which is the best processor to handle 96 triggers in each platform?
3   Would and 8 gb memory be enough clout to cope with all this or would i need more? 
Your help is much appreciated as i have read less than complimentary reviews about the 6 core AMD 6100 Versus the intel 4 core  i5 and i7.

is how I would go if it were mean .. of course you will only find out in live mode whether it's sufficient, but I think it will be.
