Help please..why does this happen?
« on: Thu, 02 June, 2011, 22:29 »
Hello and thank you for any help.
I run multiple triggers on my marketfeeder....recently when Ive started looking at my daily results statemement Ive disciovered that SOME of my triggered bets have been placed twice..but only some of them.....that despite me having "execute only once per selection" in the coditions.
Has anyone any idea how/why this could happen?
Could it be that my broadband connection fails for a split second after placing the first bet and then as signal restored another bet placed because it dosnt remember first bet placed?
Ive attached one example.
It also happens with other triggers/sometimes
Thanks
A baffled Paul

hi
you say that you have multiple triggers.
now if each trigger is set to once per selection and the same selection meets the condition of more than one trigger, then each trigger will bet on that selection once, thus making multiple bets on one selection.
there are a few ways to stop this
1  try to combine your mutiple conditions in one trigger using blocks (the best way).
2  use the and selections back/lay matched is equal to 0 ( this works most of the time, but if 2 triggers activate at the same time then you will get 2 bets, to avoid this set the trigger times a couple of secs appart)

Hello Mcbee and as ever thank you for helping....I do have multiple triggers but they are all different stakes so that I know which trigger fired what.. I do have muliple triggers and  I do want and expect more than one bet on a selection if more than one trigger is met...BUT the example I gave is the same trigger firing twice...I do want multiple triggers to bet/lay the same horse if conditions are met...I just cant understand why the same trigger fires twice.
thanks again

Heh,
Could be due to a very, very fast refresh rate with a slow internet connection i.e. by the time the 1st bet is sent, received at Betfair and reply sent to MFPro the 2nd bet goes on to place the bet again not knowing that the 1st bet has been placed as there is no info from Betfair acknowledging it in the very short time between refreshes...just a thought.
If you lose...don't lose the lesson!
