How to know if a goal was scored ??
« on: 03 Sep 2010, 13:09 »
Hi,

I want to make a trigger that fires after a goal was scored. I tried with market_score variables, but MF Pro is not getting the match score(I turned on Download Match Score).

I saw a different approach using the variables last_suspend, but a the game can be suspended if a goal was scored, or a penalty happens so it doesn't i guess.

Im thinking in monitoring the correct score market and when the 0-0 selection goes higher(a lot) its because a goal was scored. So what i want is to fire two trigers, one in the match odds market and the other in under 2.5 goals market when the 0-0 in the correct score goes higher, but i dont know it its possible. Any Help?

Thanks

What do you mean it is not getting the score? What matches did you try?

I tried yesterday with olimpia vs defensor that went live in betfair and i tried today with under 21 qualification games, and i get nothing. The variables return -1, in betfair  i can see the score. I read that this problem has been solved but i cant get the score.

Now with Portugal vs Cyprus i can get the score. I deactivated and activated the Download Score option before the game starts. Maybe is just some bad configuration. Gonna try later with Godoy vs Estudiantes.

No its not bad configuration. Sorry OXA but despites the "Live Score issue is solved" announcement the live score still is not working in  all In Play matches but only in major games. I guess the problem is on betfair's API side and maybe not offering for all Live matches... And the problem is that we dont know in wich we gonna have Live Score or NOT... But i have reconfigured my trigger so to check if there is a live score in the first minutes(because i noticed that in some games Live Score appears much later or incorrect) of the game otherwise delete the market. So i keep only the InPlay matches that live score is working.  Ssera because i am working for a long time on triggers based on Correct Score in relation with Total Goals or Under/Over markets my advice is to stay only on 100% working inplay games that include Live Score. Also it is good to user other Betfair Username than your main because it is really possible to get charged for Data Usage/Request from Betfair because of loading many markets in the same time and etc.

But if you insist on working around way for Live Scores the solution i found for scores like 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 that can lead to you to trades with Total Goals and Under/Over market is by using in Conditions Trigger Expression command and Variables back_price, back_price2, back_price3 wich gives the best(highest) back price avalaible. For example if back_price = 1000 that means that a goal is scored and 0-0 in Correct Score market back price is equal to 1000...  Of course all this in a reasonable time manner because if the score is 0-0 near 70'(or even earlier) back price equal to 1000 may appear in other results like 3-2,2-3, other score and etc...

I hope this is helpfull to you. If i give you this trigger(i already done this) that you need then will never figure out how MF works and you ll always need someone to do this for you. So i think that this way i am more helpfull to you :)

Yes, it is best to check whether match score is working at the beginning of a match. If it is not working, the match score variables return the value "-1".

So to be safe you should include a conditions such like "match_score1" is not equal to -1.

Hi,

this problem is more serious if our soccer strategy enters the market pre-game and (wants to) exit inplay.

Soccer is affected a lot.

Also, we do not have an exact timing (time since the off is not accurate - you can't apply for a strategy that is activated at 85min) HT-FT delays, red cards, update score delays and frequency you loose valuable time if the market returns after suspension and score is not,...

I know it has to do with the BF API, but I have to post it.

That's why I am trying not to use timing red cards and score vars from MF but from external specific feeds.

Best Regards,

Theodore

Thanks guys for all the advices.

What i did was check the 0-0 score to see if a goal is scored or not. My strategy only works until the half-time, so for me i guess the problem is solved. I only work with this program a couple days so im still learning, but i noticed that the game time sometimes is not accurate.

This is how i check the game time:

(now_time - event_off)/0.000694

How do you guys do it ?

PS: MF automatic prevents that i exceed the betfair api limit right ? Im only testing right now, so i dont to buy an username at least for now.

Thanks.
