Triggering user variable at specific moment
« on: Mon, 30 May, 2011, 17:13 »
I'm working with user variables and had a question I couldn't figure out from the manual or support site.  Is there a way to reset a User Variable.  Example:
User1 IF(back_price>5,3,0)

Let's say I'm going to use User1 in a Trigger Expression.  Basically, I don't want it to check the back price until all the conditions of the trigger I'm using the variable in have been met.  In the above example, if it finds a horse with a back price > 5, it will return the number 3.  Of course, odds change constantly and, if I"m using User1 in a trigger with multiple other conditions, I don't want User1 to be set until all those other trigger conditions have been met - meaning I either want to keep re-setting User1 until all the other trigger conditions are met or not set User1 at all UNTIL all the other conditions of my trigger have been met.

Does that make sense?  I can't figure out how to do it.  Thanks.

hi
set the user variable trigger to   no more often than   and set to .30(or whatever)
so this will keep altering the info in the variable and if your conditions and the conditions in the variable are correct then it will place the bet.

I don't know what we'd do without mcbee!  :)

I have another question related to this same issue.

Let's same I'm doing User1 with IF(back_price<5,3,0) and let's say four horses meet that condition, will User1 return 3 or 12?  To get to my real question: how can I make it return 12, i.e. assign a number 3 to all horses whose back prices are below 5 then return the sum of all of them as the User1 variable for me to use later?

Thanks.

hi
Let's same I'm doing User1 with IF(back_price<5,3,0)
you would have to have  IF(back_price<5,User1+3,0)
you would also have to have a new trigger to set the User1 to 0.
so each time a horse is below 5 it will add 3 to  the last amount
to do this you would have to set the variable trigger to   once per selection  , otherwise it will keep adding 3 on every refresh.
