Weight of money
« on: Sat, 16 April, 2011, 04:46 »
Hi,

Correct me if I’m wrong ....Choosing “retrieve all price offers” calculates the weight of money on all prices on a selection when using the trigger condition “Any selection’s weight of money is....

Unticking “retrieve all price offers” will calculate the weight of money on the best 3 back prices/ best 3 lay prices only when using the trigger condition “Any selection’s weight of money is....

Do you think it would be possible to add an option to “retrieve only the best back price lay/ best lay price” so that weight of money can be calculated on best back price lay/ best lay price only?

If Roger federer is 1.03 when playing against a player ranked 100 in the world, then  based on weight of  money on the best 3 back prices/ best 3 lay prices more often than not more people (or more money whichever word you want to use) will want to lay federer than back federer. However, if you use weight of money based on best back price lay/ best lay price only, then it could be the complete opposite – more people might want to back federer than lay federer. That is why weight of money based on best 3 back prices/ best 3 lay prices can be flawed.
Does anyone agree with me that weight of money based on best 3 back prices/ best 3 lay prices can be flawed?

P.S. Yes I know you can’t predict with 100% confidence which way the market is going to using weight of money only.

Do you think it would ibe possible to add an option to “retrieve only the best back price lay/ best lay price” so that weight of money can be calculated on best back price lay/ best lay price only?

Please help

Thanks

hi
in today's trading i would agree with you, as the 2nd best amount back/lay is used by money traders to push the price the way they want it to go, then they pull the money out.
if you want to use this method, all you have to do is set 2 new variable triggers.
variable ba to record the best back amount
variable la to record the best lay amount
you have to set them   to not more than .3  , so that they record the price constantly.
then you have your trigger with the condition
to back
and trigger expression  ba is greater than la * (the amount that you think is good)
to lay
and trigger expression  la is greater than ba * (the amount that you think is good)
this is just part of the method that i have used, because the best back/lay amount is taken up by punters it changes all the time, so i set my triggers to record the highest amount for each selection, then used the selection that had the most money put on the best back amount.
you have to have one lot of trigger to 0 the variable
then another lot to record the highest amount
then a formula to pick the one with the highest amount and back or lay.
the problem for me was i only have a laptop with 1 gb memory, so mfp started crashing due to lack of memory.
but i was using it for greyhounds, so i had 6 triggers recording the back amounts.
