  • Is there anybody interested on running MarketFeeder Pro on MacOS or Linux?
We've managed to make it working (without Window virtualisation) but it's bit tricky and +costs.

  • Hi,

Talking about a Linux version the main advantage i can see is on the prices of the VPS. Linux servers are half the price of the windows ones.

I would be tempted to give it a go depending, obviously, of the prices and if the MFPro would run just like the windows version.

So, yes, at least a linux version may be interesting.

    :):):)

  • OK, guys, sorry for delay.
The idea is to run MarketFeeder / X-Feeder under CrossOver software. It's a Windows API emulator for MacOS/Linux/ChromeOS. It's aimed to run Windows games mainly, but works fine with our software.

Yes, it's a commercial software and yes it's based on an open source software WineHQ. But due to nature of ancient technologies we've being used since 2005 when we started developing our software it simply doesn't work under the WineHQ. The Codeweavers company, the owner of CrossOver, added some fixes to their software that make it possible to run ours.

So, to try our idea please download a free 14-days trial of the CrossOver: MacOS / Ubuntu / Debian / RedHat / Fedora / Other Linux / ChromeOS and install it.
Then download a prepared "bottle" with MarketFeeder Pro installed - 76 Mb
Start CrossOver, click (+) at the bottom and select "Import Bottle Archive", select the file. You'll see a MarketFeeder Pro icon and can start it. It's a bit slower than native Windows one but quite usable. You can access drive C: by right click on "WellDoneSoft" -> "Open C: Drive". If you click "Wine configuration" -> "Drivers" you can map any "host" folder as a "Windows" drive.

When your trial is over and you are ready to purchase a CrossOver license, please write to [email protected] - we'll give you 10% off the public price (29 GBP instead of 38 EUR). It's a lifetime license (but without Codeweavers support) and you free to install/run almost any Windows apps/games ;) Of course you can buy an extended license from Codeweavers.
