MFP  will  the standard by which all other Betfair software  will measure themselves.

Right now nothing comes close,  perhaps 1 competitor has some  graphical functionalities better than MFP,  but the overall comparison puts MFP as the best choice.

Congratulations,  live long and prosper.

Will version 7 continue to use the outdated DDE for Excel, or will it use the more robust RTD data exchange, which was introduced with Excel 2002?

Hi,
I find the proposal interesting, but (unfortunately), not a lot of people are using MFP in relation with Excel.
So, I think that WellDone will not prove to invest  in a new framework with such small audience.

Besides that, the more things they will accept (for version 7.0), the later version 7.0 will appear!!!

I use RTD today.

Best Regards,

Theodore

tpanos,

Excel obviously extends the capabilities of MFP. If not a lot of people are using it, it may be due to the bottlenecks created by DDE = Cause & Effect.

I don't think RTD should slow down the development of v7 either. We are not really talking about developing a new pipeline between Excel and MFP, just replacing it with a better one that is already there...

Oxa,

The plans for version 7.0 sound most exciting. Would it be possible to include Bollinger Bands in the new charts and trends?
Thank you.

Had a look at it just now. Yes, I think we can include this functionality with corresponding trigger variables denoting the higher and lower bands, as well as moving average.
I can't tell for sure whether it'll be in the first release of v.7.0, but definitely a good feature to add to the next releases.
I'll have an eye on this topic throughout the whole development process.

Thank you John, I do think Excel connectivity is an important part of MF Pro, and improving the performance of this part (if not the set of tools) is among our plans fo the next version.

We are considering RTD as one of the possible solutions.
BTW, right now MF Pro uses a combination of OLE and DDE, which - I agree - still doesn't provide the needed speed and robustness.

I am a person who is a very "black and white thinker". To me there are no such things as shades of grey and I have come to a conclusion about market charts and graphs. I have considered them and to me they are a complete waste of time. I have already made myself unpopular on another forum by expressing my views about them. Nevertheless, nobody has been able to explain the benefits of charts and graphs. A chart can only show where a market has been and one has not been invented yet which will tell the direction in which it is going to go next.

I would be grateful if MFP had fewer rather than more features relating to graphs and charts. Anbody disagreeing with me is free to explain the advantages of such things.  If anybody succeeds in explaining their advantages, it will be a notable first in the history of trading forums.

Merry Christmas !

Hi

Personally, I'm nor particularly interested in graphs too, unless one can use technical indicators. - I suppose technical indicator would work in this particulare of market too! just like in the finance. Acctualy I am more intressed in having a good markets serching (add markets in a more sofisticated way) and nice trigger functionality!

hi
all they do, instead of looking and having to work out the numbers, you can see at a glance if the odds or whatever is rising or falling.
some people are slow at counting and others only have to look at numbers to see the difference, you are maybe one of the lucky ones that can count very quick, so you have no need for a graph/chart, where as others it is quicker just to look at a chart.
all companys have to cater for all types of people.
