This could be due to unnecessary trigger logging, especially if you have triggers that are executed repeatedly in the same market. In that case, turn off logging where it is not needed.

If it does not help, please let me inspect your triggers: email them to the support and mention this forum topic. Thank you.

What is the recommended method for doing an upgrade?

I notice a green balloon with text "Update now!" when starting MFPro.
If I click on this nothing seems to happen, or does it?
Currently I am on version 8.7.4.1

Is the current version 8.7.5.6 stable?

Yes! It is.

Please just download the new version and just install it (close older market feeder first, if you have it open).
No need uninstall previous version, just download, click ando go!
