cant controll my lay bet trigger
« on: 06 Jun 2011, 19:45 »
Hello everyone!

Looking for some help please.
My strategy would be to lay on the fav horse at starting price. If the the sp is between 3-5 and there is at least  5 runners  in the race. If the favorites  sp is out of the 3-5 range no bet!

I show yee how i did my trigger but its not working properly.
Excuse me im just a newbee i tried my best.
My trigger looks like this:
http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/4469/triggerg.jpg

Some times it makes silly bets wich cost me money. :P

For example:
If you look at the SPs it layed the 3rd favorit not the first. The first favorites sp was lower than 3 so it should be a no bet but the trigger did layed
Maybe in that moment when the trigger execute a nother horse was the favorite, but i want to pick my horse with the lowest sp.

Please tell me guys what did i do wrong.
Thank you!

hi

IMPORTANT

FIRST of all REMOVE your account name etc, as there are a lot of people out there that WILL use this info.

as to why it layed outside the odds ?

Thank you for warning me! I changed the pic.

Yes, why its laying outside odds and why laying on the third favorite and not on the first?
Is there any condition wich makes sure that my selection has the lowest sp? Cause the one i added seems not working?

Maybe the way im thinking is completly wrong. Is there a nother way to lay bet the fav @ sp where you can limit the not just the hight of the odds but the bottom too?

hi
it depends on when you want the bet placed.
if you are happy for the bet to be placed at inplay, then your first 2 conditions should be correct.
but to be safe add a condition
and mins since the start is equal or more than .1
this makes sure that betfair has formed the sp market prices.

Doesnt matter when the bets getting placed as soon as i get odds close to the SP.
Earlier I tried to lay bets 30 and 15 sec before start time but i find that lay odds where good bit higher than the SP.
Thank you for the advice, but im worried if i wait 1 min after start the short distance race can be well in play and the odds will be much higher.

Hi there,
Your trigger is set to act on whichever selection is the Favourite IN-PLAY.

Once the race is under way, the trigger picks the selection with the LOWEST AVAILABLE BACK PRICE as the Favourite.

It then checks whether THIS selection has an actual_sp between 3 & 5 ...Yes
Then it checks whether there's 5 or more runners in the race...Yes
Then it checks whether this selection...the one with the current lowest available to trade back price...has an actual_sp that's the minimum of all those available. As it's the only selection under consideration it's actual_sp is the minimum. NOTE: It's also the maximum as there's only one!

You should set your "Selections" to First Matching Selections
and your conditions to...
Any Selections > Actual Starting Price > is between > 3 and 5
AND
Markets > No. of Selections > is equal or greater than > 5
AND
Fitting Selections > Actual Starting Price > is the minimum

Hope that helps...

Back again. I thought i had the right settings but but after a few days testingStill need some tuning.

I gave up betting on favorites my targets are the third favorits this time. My problem is the same. When the race turns into play the trigger is looking for the third favorite but as the prices move up and down the third can be different from it was 2 seconds ago.

Id like to bet on the third favorite according to the Starting Price namely the horse with the third lowest SP.
I tried to use "selections: Third favorite" and place my lay bet in play but in play this option picks automatically the runner with the third lowest a lay price not the SP.

What conditions can i use to make sure i get the one with the third lowest SP?
This would be critical as i pick up too many false bets.

Thanks in advance!

MFPro Support please note!
Picking selections according to their position in the Actual SP list is not something that's possible in the current MFPro. It's something I believe I added to the wish list for Version 7. Hopefully the next release will make this possible.

In the meantime a work around is to use several triggers to progressively sort the prices.

Since we're dealing with the actual_sp, the following REMEMBER triggers need to be set to execute IN-PLAY...

Trigger 1 (remember the actual_sp fav)
Any Selections >>>Actual Starting Price>>>is greater than 0
AND Fitting Selections >>>Actual Starting Price>>>is the minimum

Trigger 2 (remember the actual_sp 2ndfav)
Any Selections >>>Actual Starting Price>>>is greater than 0
AND Trigger/Trigger Block>>>Trigger1>>>executed x times per selection>>> 0
AND Fitting Selections >>>Actual Starting Price>>>is the minimum

Trigger 3 (remember the actual_sp 3rdfav)
Any Selections >>>Actual Starting Price>>>is greater than 0
AND Trigger/Trigger Block>>>Trigger2>>>executed x times per selection>>> 0
AND Fitting Selections >>>Actual Starting Price>>>is the minimum

...and so on...

In your trigger (also set to execute in-play) you can now pick...
Any Selection >>>Affected By Trigger>>>Trigger 3
AND then your criteria

NOTE: The triggers have to follow each other in the Trigger editor in the above sequence.

That works for me...

If you lose...don't lose the lesson!

use trigger expression last_order = 3

from the manual:
last_order  = The order of the selection before the off. 1 stands for the favourite, 2 - for the second favourite and so on.

 ;D ;D ;)
