Dutching trigger
« on: 21 Apr 2010, 17:03 »
Hi all, I wanted to share my trigger here to see if anyone can help on improving it. Maybe it will give you ideas for other types of triggers or use this one built into your own. The first one is the trigger I entered into the trigger battle (see results here: http://battle.marketfeederpro.com/results/1264729420/) Many thanks to Brad Jones for posting his trigger.

The strategy was to dutch lay three horses to a set liability of £200. 3rd 4th and 5th usually. Combine the prices to a total percent. Then apply a trailing stop loss and finally a dutch back bet of all matched selection for an even profit or loss. That was version 4 which was entered (see attached)

The old trigger didn’t allow to change the number of selections easily, also it would have to dutch back the same number of runners even if it was at 1000.
Now I’ve been trying to make it dutch lay a number of runners which is easier to change. Also only dutch back the runners that odds are under a 1000. This would able it to dutch horses inplay, correct scores inplay and many others.  (See attached v14)
I need to test this trigger on more markets, it would also help to dutch runners that odds will go up so I can test the stop loss on it more.
At the moment to change which runners to dutch go to the variable named A. All the conditions of when to start the block are in here. I’ve been using a text file to select the index of the runners, simply link a text file with 3 lines like:
3
4
5
Or change this for conditions like 1st 2nd and 3rd fav etc.

And make sure the final condition of “matching number” is equal to the number of runners your planning to dutch.
Also make sure all user variables have “individually for each market” checked,
all remember triggers have “Create a new list every time” checked
and also in general options “Show P/L net of exchange commission”  is unchecked.
At the moment It’s set up to dutch lay before the off and back if the trailing stop loss kicks in or the time before the off is less 0. Would need to change the conditions in the back trigger to allow it inplay.

You could also in the view user variable window put in different lines.
M : shows the matched lay percent book
D : shows current back prices percent book
low_dutch_b : shows the lowest back book runners have reached.

So give it a try would be very interested to hear feedback on this.
Cheers
Maddox
