Betfair against traders?
« on: 03 Oct 2021, 12:23 »
I focus on trading football mainly. What I noticed recently is Betfair suspending for good matches heavily traded (minor leagues), a lot more compared to other games. Suspending them around 20-40 minute and they stay suspended untill final time giving no opportunity to hedge any trades there. Thought it is coincidence at first but then on a very quiet day I spotted three games where 50k-100k was traded, suspended in exactly same pattern. Same story today, two havily traded games pulled for good.

I rarely see any game suspended for no reason until KO. Asked them about it and got "technical issues" answer which is nonsense imo, they got plenty of matches to suspend but picking these ones only.

I read about Betfair drastically changing their policy recently but this is something new, didnt expect such attitude. Read some theories that they sabotage exchange for purpose to get rid of traders and have mug bettors moved to Sportsbook, would laugh hearing such stories before but not anymore.

I have noticed that too. I do not understand why they would do that as they supposedly live off commission fees.

Something strange going on there for sure. Loads of people complain about 100 pounds deposit limit and Betfair going crazy if you are logged in too long in their opinion. My wild guess would be that there is huge push from soft bookies to get rid of exchange completely, bookies lose a lot from arbing so Im not surprised really they may just "buy" Betfair and problem solved. Its their dream I recon, having customers "mug bettors" only and kicking out smart ones by limiting accounts.
