Can I do this with MFP?
« on: 08 Jun 2011, 16:55 »
Hi all  :) I just downloaded the trial of MFP and this is my first post!

I would like to know if the following is possible;

I want to be able to fully automate the process of betting on the correct score markets in football matches, backing or laying before the match kicks off and trading out in-game after a sharp price swing or after x amount of minutes if the price and/or score have hit certain parameters or the match is a certain amount of minutes in.

Is this all possible and if so how difficult is it to achieve for a complete novice in logic building bots?

Also a question for admin, if I take advantage of the 30% off promo, when version 7 is released do I get a free upgrade to it from 6.x?

The bot can certainly track price changes, slow or sudden and also elapsed time since start of event.

There are variables which can track the scores in the match, but as this  is supplied by Betfair, there have been problems with this data stream in the past and it gained a reputation for unrealiability.  I don't know what the current status of this stream is.

If you can write down exactly what you want to do, then after gaining some experience you should have no difficulty in creating working triggers.

The price for a subscription is true from the moment of purchase till the subscription's end.
We don't know yet if the 7th version will be more expensive but anyway it would affect new subscriptions only.

Thx very much rubold and admin. Sounds potentially promising as long as the scoreline datafeed is reliable. Does anyone else have any recent experience with this and is there any kind of workaround if it is still unreliable?

Well from this recent post: http://community.welldonesoft.com/troubleshooting-8/no-correct-score-in-football-matched/   it would appear there are still problems with the match score feed.

There will be workarounds looking at the prices of the different markets, but they are likely to increase trigger complexity, although if the are correct then everything will still work.  So if 0-0, & 0-1 0-2 etc. are all settled, but 1-0 and others remain active, then the score must be 1-0.  The status of the markets could be checked every minute to determine when a goal is scored.
