data requests
« on: 28 Mar 2013, 12:45 »
Hi could someone explain to me if i am right in what i am doing. i plan to run 5 instances of mfp. one for flat handicaps one for flat non handicaps one for nh handicaps one for nh non handicaps and another for all races. i start to monitor 1 minute before off with an inplay refresh of 0.2 the betfair calculator is set at 10. Am i within the betfair limits or do i need to change setting? Regards Andrew

DON'T do what you describe, you will be well over the data request limit.  5x10=50 with the maximum allowed @20.    So the largest request limit you can use is 4.   You will need to lengthen the refresh rate, because @0.2 you will already be using at least 5 requests per second, just for refreshing the market and then there are betting transactions on top.

Do you need to run 5 instances just to cover different types of races?  You could set up a trigger for each race type in the same instance.   Use conditions to only bet if the Markets Name contains "Hcp"
AND Markets Name does not contain "Hrd"  etc.......

Always try your triggers in Test Mode before switching to real money!

Hi i done some triggers with the conditions

and markets name contains "handicap"
and markets name does not contain "handicap"
and to determine flat or nh
selections trigger expression racedistance is greater than 3218
and selections trigger expression racedistance is less than 3218
but no trigger will fire a bet

Study the full market names - you need to employ the exact abbreviations used by Betfair.
eg. Chs, Hrd, Hcap, NHF, Nov in quotes.

You can combine any number of conditions you need.
Flat handicaps are just Hcap, whereas jump handicaps have either Hrd or Chs after Hcap.

Another example to help you:  Markets Name contains "Nov Hrd"

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
