  • Hi all..

More an exercise in form reading rather than using market feeder but I thought I'd share an ongoing project anyway!

This is laying and backing the dogs for a handful of races per day.

Races and dogs identified by a pretty complicated set of calculations based of form data.
You will note some days early on were not accounted for.. for the simple reason I was unable to work on these days on the project.

Seems to be going well so far...

Backing £1 stake laying £1.5 stake

  • Strike rate for the back bets is about 44% with an average odds of 4.5

  • How long does it take to work out the bets?
  • #4 by liltbrockie on 13 Feb 2017
  • Takes about 10 mins to sort out the bets in the morning... I have a database which basically takes raw info from the forms and calculates stuff automatically.. Kinda like a spreadsheet but better!

Pretty bad going lately the moment I start publicising everything.. sods law! But the recent races which lost me money were all handicap races so I think I might take a view on them and not include them... not sure what other peoples thoughts are on betting on handicap dog races?!?!

The race at sheffield today is not a handicap so fingers crossed

  • Just worked it out...

69% ROI with handicap races included
85% ROI with handicap races excluded..  :-\

  • Excluding the handicap races there are

    49 Lay bets
    100% strike rate
    Average odds 13.9

  • Hi liltbrockie,

This is really cool! Seems to me like you're good to go, just stay away from the handicap races.

Quite exciting if you scale this up. Have you got a trigger for this?

I'm new here but would be keen to test it out and share results.

    All the best,

    Tim

  • Hi Timbo.. there isnt really a trigger as such... this is more an exercise in form reading... if there was a trigger it would simply be placing lay and back bets just before the off based on the selections name so nothing fancy!

The magic happening here is in the calculations of the racing card which I'm not prepared to go into any details about for obvious reason!
