    Which program did you use for these graphs?

    With 32k games used I guess you include many football leagues and many class levels.

    Do the charts change much depending on the class of play?

    Good old MS Excel. The data was gathered from our internal database of historical data using SQL queries.

    Yes, the data includes all sorts of football markets. That's an interesting question! Will try to aggregate data on the latest World Cups when the current one is over.

  • Hi Oxa,

    I have never traded football and have only a feeble knowledge of the round ball version of football but given the immense amount of money traded it may be worth a look.

    It seems to me scoring a goal is maybe a rare event and Poisson models could be appropriate, what do others think?

    Also it appears a key player is the goalkeeper: when penalty shootouts decide the fate of teams the goalkeeper's record in saving penalty shots become paramount.

    Are you able to graph the influence of this?
