Historical Results - where can you find them?

Hi All,

Does anyone know where you can get historical data of races that have happened in the past couple of years?

Specifically I am interested in the UK Greyhound and UK All Weather Horse races.

This is the information I am looking for on each runner:

date / time / course / Betfair Starting Price (Win Odds) / Betfair Starting Price (Place Odds) / Betfair Starting (Lay Odds) / Betfair Starting Price (Lay Odds) / Result (what position did each Horse or Dog finish)

So far I have been able to copy a screen shot from Timeform (horses only) into and Excel document. From there I have to reformat the data using Text To Columns on a day-by-day basis. However, this is quite time-consuming as you can imagine!

If anyone knows of a good, reliable resource - paid for or free - please do let me know as copy and pasting is excel is driving me insane!

You will still need to carry out a lot of data crunching to get anything out of the free Betfair data files.  Also I'm not certain if SP data are included.  Here is a post I wrote a while ago giving some information about extracting the Greyhound data:

you could wait for the time machine to be released, then you would have any amount of data that you need.

i don't know the exact release date, but we are beta testing until the end of june, so if there are no major problems, then maybe it will be in july.

Hi All,

many thanks for your comments and suggestions - it seems as though there is still a bit of data manipulation to be done, especially if I want to get the lay odds for any race.

useful tips that I am sure will come in very handy so thanks all round.

I was using a site called UK Horse Racing as my bank of results for the horses, but they have now restricted access to a full year of past results to members only...and the subscription service is full.

By the way guys, for this year, do we need to pay extra to get those historical results?
