  • I am just getting some test triggers created and one of my conditions is to only place a bet in certain classes of race.

Apparently MFP does not recognise the class of a race only the Official Horse Rating.

I have looked at the Official ratings for the different classes but it appears that horses can compete in several different classes with the same rating.

Has anyone had any joy with using ratings instead of class?

    Thanks

  • Hi ,

Yes, Mcbee gave me the answer to this.

I was looking to bet in class 3 and above hanc races only, so use official rating Equal or less than 90.

  • Thanks but the problem is that there are bands.

Take the below table which is in various websites:

    • Class 1 Listed Handicaps for horses rated 96-110+.
    • Class 2 This includes the Heritage Handicaps. The rating bands for this class are 86-100, 91-105 and 96-110.
    • Class 3 The ratings band for this class are 76-90 and 81-95
    • Class 4 For horses rated 66-80 and 71-85
    • Class 5 For horses rated 56-70 and 61-75
    • Class 6 For horses rated 46-60 and 51-65.
    • Class 7 Generally these are classified stakes races for horses rated 0-45.

As you can see a rating of less than 90 could be a class 2,3,4,5,6 or 7.

Any given Official rating could be in at least two different classes, so unless I am reading this wrong, ratings are not an accurate way to narrow down races into classes.

  • hi
BUT , there is no other way , so you have to make the best of what you have.
I think the you will find that class 1 and class 2 WILL have horses with the maximum rating , those classes race to win.
