M7 stability Excel
« on: 25 Feb 2013, 23:03 »
I tried ver 7 early in the release period and it failed miserably to connect w MXEcel and be stable.

Are there regularly users here that can confirm the stability issues w MSExcel are fixed?

Ver 6 has been very good and although I run stand alone triggers in Ver 7 I am reluctant to transfer MSExcel triggers overm however automation has me reconsidering.

Londolozi, the code behind the interaction between MF Pro and Excel is the same in V6 and V7, so it is surprising that V7 is unstable as compared to V6 when you run triggers that connect to Excel.

Can you give more details as to how frequently you refresh markets that are added to the Excel sheet, whether you use custom cells and Excel variables and what particular issues you have with V7.

M7 still has the same issues of not working after sitting idle for extended periods
Eg: Started 0430 local by 1200 local M7 has closed itself down.

Investigation continue why?

There was no refreshing when it crashes.
I set it up before work and buy lunchtime M7 has closed down for unknown reasons.
It is the only program to close on my machine.
Is there a log I can check?

I will be monitoring tomorrow.

I apologize, M7 did not crash by itself. I had an old task set up that closed it at 10am every day.

However, as I progress automation with and excel sheet I am hitting speed bumps.

M7 Asks me "There is an open instance of Excel would you like to connect to it"
I answer 'Yes' but it opens a new instance anyway.

Any idea why that happens?

I also had another request from another thread regard remembering Sheet/Range/Col information that M7 doesn't do as M6 did.

Is there anyway to command "Launch Excel" (M7) from a third party program.

I can use a mouse tracker but would prefer direct code.

The Instability of M7 has returned.
Scenario. (All times local)
In the first instance M7 Aust profile is connected w MSExcel at 1100 local and it bets all afternoon successfully in Aust.

M7 is closed down at 2145 local.
At 2230 M7 UK profile is started and connected w MSExcel. As soon  as M7 starts monitoring the first race, it crashes. Been consistently for 3 nights now. Whetehr I set up manually or automatically using third party software it still fails. Is there a failure log I could track down for support or someone to check.

Points.
If not connect to MSExcel it works ok, [but useless to me as I always interface w MSExcel from my betlist] Image of problem log attached. Problem logs refers to invalid date. However if
I have attached images of various windows.

Ver 6 does not crash

hi
excel use's a lot of memory.
make sure that you have set your virtual memory to the custom max.
if you let windows auto set it cannot cope with the extra demand

I'll investigate but remember M7 works fine in Aust racing earlier on the same day.
When I set it to run overnight, that is when the crash occurs.

Settings are the same excluding Market locator.

Definitely no other scan/updates that interfere as I check from Task Administrator anyway.

Doubled checked all settings are same as morning version. Checked correct.
As soon as monitoring started which is -5mins to off M7 crashes.

Why does a morning version work and not a evening version.

My theory. In the morning M7 connects with a workbook named Book1 under a different profile.
In the evening a different profile connect with the same name workbook Book 1. Could this be an issue?

Very frustrated!!!

Further testing.
Profile - UK
Loaded this morning.
Added a soon to jump race from USA.
Launched Excel
M7 Crashes.

How can one profile work ok, yet the other continually crash, profiles the same but named differently ?

Both profiles work from the same folder, therefore the same feeder7.exe

Help!
