statistics greyhounds ?
« on: 16 Aug 2010, 10:33 »
Hello,

I would like to know what are the chances (in percentage) of winning if I bake systematically the probable winner in racing dogs in UK? Are there any statistics?
thank you for your reply.

Try this site for some data http://www.greyhound-data.com/

The percentage chance would depend if you were able to calculate fair value odds accurately ... sadly I failed at this.

What I am saying is ... You can systematically back the probable winner, but if you are backing at 2.00 instead of 3.00 you will lose in the long run. So besides determining the probable winner, you need to find the % chance the winner has of winning and this you can convert to odds.

I have used it but something different. I am trying to learn to trade so I replay markets and hopefully I will learn something. Of course it will be totally different when I put down real cash, but this is an easier cheaper way to learn.

See attached screen shot of their interface.

I am not sure if it will work for you, but it will cost you 10 pounds to find out and 17cents per greyhound meeting which will work out to about 58 meeting for your 10 quid and more then 600 races if you choose the bigger meetings. This will give you real accurate betfair prices right before the off and will be good for your strategy if you want to work out true profitability.

Good Luck

Hi 1oser,
With Fracsoft, could we use triggers like MF to test our strategies ?

Sadly no .. not directly with their interface.

However you can send it to them to test out your strategies at an additional cost. Don't know how much.
