  • Hello there,

How accurate is test mode? I have read quite a few posts but just have this question for you.

If I have a lay at say 2.0 and betfair shows that that runner traded as low as 1.5 but lay does not trigger in test mode. Do I assume that this is a testmode issue or that my bet which has sat at that price in the market from race start would not get met??

Or 2.0 to actual 1.8 less likely etc?

    Any help appreciated.

  • Hi
Test mode will match at the best available price recorded by the program.
    For example:
in the attached screenshot the trigger fires in a lay on the fav at a price of 20.00.
it is matched at the best available price which is 8.40
you can also see the last traded price on the selection is 6.60

I think in the example you give, the price of 1.50 was not available long enough for the program to register it within your set refresh rate. If you check the trigger log, it should give you information as to why your trigger did not fire.

  • in-play and especially fast moving odds (top 2) test mode is not as good as the real thing.

  • The issue you described hardly has anything to do with the Test Mode. There must be another reason why the trigger did not work. Perhaps that condition was met, but it was not the only one, so the trigger could not go ahead. Or there could be some other factors preventing it from firing. Check the trigger logs.
