  • Hi Guys,

Is the recommendation for a VPS for MarketFeeder Pro still Thrust VPS.

I have been using another VPS provider (that arent cheap)and have found that they take servers down on a weekend because the forex markets are closed on the weekends. I tried to explain that the horse racing peak time is Sat/Sun and was told that "we need to do the updates sometime". I have contacted the owner of the company be to be honest if that's the attitude I am going to start looking around for another provider.

Also, how do thrust vps go for planned and unplanned outages and notification prior to outages?

Also what is the recommended spec, not minimum, but something that will be responsive. I currently have 2gB RAM and 40 GB HDD on Windows Server 2008R2 and it seems ok.

    Steve

    Regards
    Steve

  • Have a look at Tagadab.  I've used them with no problems and pricing is keen.  You would need to ask them about downtime, but I never experienced any.  To get guaranteed 24/7 you would need to rent a dedicated server  that is obviously more expensive.

  • how much do you pay rubold?

  • I don't need them now as I've retired, but was paying about £23/month inc.VAT for their 2GB ram, 70GB storage service.  There is a cheaper one, but don't know if its enough to run MFPro.  I've just had a read of their condtions and they offer 100% uptime for all their VPS.

  • I think they are the best in UK, I mean Tagadab. tech support is 24/7 too which is a huge plus.

  • I got an email from Tagadab today, informing me that they are offering a SSD with their VPS at no extra cost for servers ordered up to 31/12/14.  You can still take a week's trial for £2.   Sounds a good deal.
