What exactly is an UNMANAGED soccer game ?
« on: 04 Sep 2010, 15:49 »
Hi,
how BetFair monitors an UNMANAGED soccer game ?

How non management affects the odds movement when:

1. A red card is offered
2. Serious events happen during the game
3. A goal is scored

What type of monitoring do they (BF) provide?
What is exactly the difference with managed games?

Two years before, unmanaged games were almost non existent (and financially not important).
Today, things changed. We have a serious number of nonmanaged games every weekend (with more money on BF)

Any ideas?

Best Regards,

Theodore

The Match Odds markets for these games will not be suspended for goals, penalties, red cards or at any other time. The bet delay for in-play bets on these games will be eight seconds.

There is basically no monitoring whatsoever .. basically you might even bet even after the game has completed as there is no one from betfair monitoring game.

Sounds like a goldmine if you have a reliable feed for these matches.

I don't believe that would actually works since there lots of live score websites out there who claim they can update as fast as 4-5 sec from real time.

in an unmanaged market ... being at the stadium is a definite advantage if a goal is scored the market is not suspended ... and those slow on the trigger will be hoovered!

How often do the unmanaged markets have reasonable amounts of money sat on them. It is not something I have really looked at apart from when my team are involved and then the amounts of money are very small.

Two years before unmanaged games were not important.

Today things changed.
You can see unmanaged match odds markets with more than 200.000 euros.

The easiest thing to do in unmanaged markets is to lay the underdog when he has a red card (and all relevant conditions), fact that shows in livescore feeds and is not suspended on unmanaged games
