  • I think it's excellent that MFPro visualizes selections deselected for auto-trading!

Personally, I find the grey foreground colour very hard to read against the back/lay boxes. As "inactive" is my default setting, all prices are a bit difficult to read for me as there is not enough contrast between background and foreground colour.

It would be great if this colour was customizable. I am sure this would enable the user to find a foreground/background combination that is well readable for them.

The settings dialog allows change of lay/back foreground colour. This only has an effect when the selection is active. Inactive foreground colour is always the same grey. From that point of view it would also be good if the inactive foreground colour could be adjusted.

When playing around with the colours, I also noticed a minor inconsistency:
When the default settings are inactive for auto-trading and brief mode, all font colours are grey as they should be - except the name of the selection. Change the market to full mode and the selection name also becomes grey. Toggle back to brief mode and the selection name stays grey. I presume it should have been grey when the market was first displayed.

  • I have played around a wee bit with the colours because this is really bothering me, and I am really keen on having auto-trading off as a safe-guard.

Although grey is the natural choice for inactive, it does not matter what background colour you choose, you will never get a good contrast. For me the result is that I don't spot the prices changes as quickly as I would with a black foreground.

I have lightened the background colours a bit to improve the situation, see attached screenshot.

We all have certain associations with the background colours (back/lay; up, down). Although, like you, I would ordinarily prefer a neutral text colour, I would probably resort to black and blue foreground colours to sort the contrast issue if I could choose the active and inactive foreground colours.

  • Ok, I've put that request in the wish list SmartySocks.

  • Oxa - you're a star!

I detected your software a year ago and thought then that it was the one to go for.

Having tested (and bought) the software I find it is even more powerful than I thought. Manual, support and software are excellent!
