Excel Spreadsheet Question
« on: 20 Apr 2019, 09:39 »
Hi there

Excel Spreadsheet Question

Can I export data from an Excel Spreadsheet (e.g. the output of a Data Comparison) to a Trigger, and use the exported data to potentially activate the Trigger ?

Thank you.

Hi
Yes there several ways:

with an Excel spreadsheet connected you can reference specific cell values in a trigger condition like this:
selections back price is less than cell_Sheet1_A1
so in this example we are checking the selections back price is less than the value in Sheet1!A1

You can also import selection names with some values from an Excel sheet or a text file.
Please see the helpfile following sections:
Excel Interface > Importing Selection Data
Excel Interface > Custom Cells
Auto-Trading > Import selections for auto-trading
Variables > Selection Variables > Excel-Bound Variables
Please read the following disclaimer with regards to the information you may request and obtain on our forum. This specifically concerns trigger files and various instructions as to how to implement a strategy.
