  • Hi,

I would like to suggest the creation of new price plans for the Time Machine. If i understand only offer a monthly subscription is underlying the idea of the TM as a software to test specific strategies what willingly would be something very restrict in time. Therefore one should only need the TM for a very short time period.

But there are also costumers, where i am included, that would like to have the time machine always at disposal to test new strategies or even specific details. As a matter of convenience and price, i guess many would prefer to subscribe the TM for longer periods of time, not needing to be constantly renewing the monthly subscription.

That´s my suggestion i hope it can be useful :):)

  • Thank you for your suggestion.
To be honest we thought nobody tests strategies for more than month as TM is "extremely quick" ;)

  • Hi again,

You are right but finding a profitable strategy is not easy and not always a person has the will or the time to do it. So, the entire process can easely take several months. Furthermore many times a person has an "official" strategy but wants to find new ones or test particular details in order to improve the profitability.

So it´s always good to have a tool like the TM at your disposal.

Anyway, if it can help you deciding to make the new offer, i would like to say that for a reasonable price i gladly would make an annual subscription. ;)

  • Yes, I agree with the above having spent 25 years refining my strategies.

My experience is that research and continuous testing does help to keep you in front, even if it by a nose.

We all get periods thinking we have cracked it and I one of my best recent episodes was managing to turn £80 into £900 over three weeks.

If these periods lasted I would not be on this forum now!

The good thing is that being reasonably disciplined, if it turns against me I stop and refine my strategies.

This is where TM is a valuable tool to have.

I have just finished my free trial period, but am now confused by the current renewal options.

Time Machine has been really useful to me and I would like to keep it for further testing, if cost does not prohibit me.

Additionally I have purchased data, which will otherwise be wasted.

Could somebody please advise me of the current cost of renewal monthly and annually for MFPro stand alone and MFPro + TM.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,
I'd like to add my tuppence worth and suggest that subscribers should consider using TM on a frequent basis. Professionals are professionals because they constantly tweak their programs for better performance. They run simulations on hundreds and often thousands of events.
Firstly by building a model on say three years of events or several hundred events and using a hold out sample to test out their model.
    Example:
    Build model using data 2010-2013
Test model simulating  2014  (hold out sample)
Even if one is only half serious about betting they should at least run simulations on a weekly basis. I run them 7 days a week and find TM is a necessity.
Adequate simulations are the foundations of any long term winning strategy. Using real time test mode is okay if you treat it as a hobby and have plenty of time on your hands.
However TM is 15 times faster and essential if you expect to make any long term profit.
On that basis I agree with BlueSky in that TM should be included in some way as a package.

  • I have used Marketfeeder for a while and only started with Time Machine in the last two weeks.

I will be using TM all the the time. It is invaluable not just for testing triggers but for testing systems and optimizing selection methods.

    I love it.

I would like an ongoing license too.

  • I would add my vote for a longer license option for TM.
