  • I noticed some exchange software company using data from third party company other than Betfair. I think if it world be a good idea if MFPro can peruse data from Racing Post for building trigger or alternatively to develope a "sister" software for selection process (with build in filters, criterias etc), the results can then be incorporated into MFPro for betting and trading.

  • Great idea, we used scores data before and faced a problem.
The problem for such feature is comparison third party names with BetFair's ones. It's hard because each service has it's own naming scheme and sometimes it's impossible to find market/runner by it's name. It's easy for you but not for the software to compare them by name.
Could you please let me know which BetFair related software uses third party info? Thanks.

  • I think the naming problem can be overcome as long as we are talking about uk horse racing. I've tried before to compare betfair names with third party software names and it worked, after I had eliminated all spaces, dots, dashes etc. from both names. I believe such kind of system will work in 99.9% which is good enough (for me).

Much more tricky are names of soccer teams. Is there any database available with all names that betfair uses for soccer games?

  • Acelay, they seem to be able to have access to Racing Post Ratings (RP) and Sporting Life Ratings (SL).
The Selector, this is more of a selection software , user must also have a Racing post account.
Note: I am not subscriber to these software, information only from demo.

  • Hi,
I face the same problems when trying to import live external feeds info to MFP via Excel (inplay or pregame).

There is definitely such a naming problem with soccer.

But, it is natural, there are some naming schemas on soccer used by the bookies.

    I filter the names on:

     - TIP-EX (http://www.tip-ex.com/omoves.php?ot=0) for market moves infos
     - XSCORES.COM (external livescore feed) and it takes me some time everyday

The above and Betfair are 3 different schemas for names!!!

Also, BetFair uses frequently abbreviated names for teams in different markets!!!

    Best Regards,

    Theodore

Thanks. I actually tried this at my end and it seemed to work out fine using the recent version!

    Hi Tim

Hi believe u can count whith us to create a database that interprete names from this sites and correspond them to betfair names ;)

It will be a great feature for mfp.
I also know softwares for betfair beting that actually show yellow and red cards, minute goals etc etc.
If they can do it, mfp probably can also do it.
So...again...i believe u guys have enoph people here to help.

    Best regards

  • What would be good for me would be to have the ability to link MF Pro to s simple two column list of names and prices from any source.  The price (or any variable) in the second column being able to be used in triggers depending on the name of the selection in the left column.

I know you can do this via a spreadsheet for EVERY event - but that takes up so much computer power it becomes un useable.  I know Tpanos once created such an device using Excel  with some very clever macros but I have a feeling that that is no longer useable now - is that correct?

Does anyone know if this is acheivable ?

  • Alfaman, I do think this is achievable. I have taken note of this post in my "to do" list.
