Hi,
"Request confirmation for every critical operation" is a global setup in general settings.

It should be useful to have the possibility to set it up / market, that means another trigger action that toggles request confirmation on/off.
Also, an open URL trigger action

An example of use:

I am using Excel to import other bookies odds for arbitrage purposes.

  • My Excel calculates arbs from these bookies odds.
  • If one of the arb legs is BetFair, I am using custom cells and formulas and a specific Excel program to transform the bookies odds in user variables individually set for each market that can be imported from MF.
  • If one (or more) of the arb legs is BetFair, MF bets on BetFair automatically according to the USV values.
  • The other leg(s), 2 or 3 or more -way arbs, are bet manually on the other bookies sites.
  • At the end, open a URL on the default browser, should accelerate the process of betting on external bookies sites

This trigger is in my trigger file where a request confirmation  is not needed for all markets - only for those markets that show an arb opportunity.

So, if a request confirmation existed, in the meantime and before answering I could accelerate betting on the other legs of the arbs externally of MF on the bookies site (via an open URL trigger action).

MF works with BetFair events.
If we must serialize actions inside BetFair and outside (i.e. other internet sites) we might have such options

Best Regards,

Theodore

Hi Theodore,

If you have the URL's already in your Excel spreadsheet, than you can automatically open them from there if the necessary conditions are met. It just requires very simple VBA coding.

I was playing around with my William Hill XML feed and all the necessary URL's are already there.

If you are willing to share, how do you import your bookie odds into Excel? Do you use William Hill, or other bookies?

Cheers,

Hi,
I am subscribed to www.oddsminer.com Odds XML feed (15 bookies) for soccer.
It is a paid service.
I import the feed, from XML data import (Excel 2007), do arb calculations and if the arb has a leg in Betfair I use MF to bet.

I did not decide to go with free XML feeds from the bookies (I tried that for a while), as naming conventions (team names, leagues etc) and data connection stability (free is free!) are a big problem.

I open the URLs from Excel actually.
If the first leg(s) of an arb is BetFair, MF bets for me this bet(s).
I would like MF to open the other bookies sites for the other bets (the other legs of the arb), AFTER the BetFair Bet(s) is ok.

It is just a question of speed and workflow in the process.

Also in a multileg arb (9 legs sometimes!!!) some of them, usually  3-5 are BetFair Correct score bets, so in MF we are very quick!!!. The other bets are manual.

Example of a 7 legs half-time arb

Juventus v Shamrock Rovers   Min Profit: 2.35 % Max Profit: 56.19 %
05.08.2010 07:45:PM           Football Matches: UEFA/Europa League Qualification

Bet Group                          Bet                    Odd           Stake   Bookmakers
Half Time                             Draw               4.00   25.59
Half Time                             Team 2           21.00     2.31
1st Half Correct Score        2-1                   23.00     2.34
1st Half Goals                     1                     2.70   19.94
Team 2 1st Half Goals        Over 1.5           41.00     1.31
1st Half Asian Handicap     Team 1 (0:1)  2.11           48.51

Best Regards,

Theodore

Hi,

That is a lot of work for cashing in on the arb! A small mistake and your profit is gone! So I understand that you need a reliable and fast source for the odds but that does not come cheap!

Did you ever think, to figure out which bet(s) of a 7 or 9 leg multiple arb provides you value? If you can, that might increase your profit but of course you have to deal with a lower strike rate and with some (inevitable) drawdowns!

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
