Staking Plans
« on: 02 Sep 2009, 10:11 »
Hi,

Nice work on MF6 and the new forum. I hope this becomes a thriving community.

I have a piece of software called the The Staking Machine (TSM), recently they added the functionality for Auto trading via Excel and Gruss Betting Assistant. The communication (as far as I can tell) is all via Excel. I suggested to them (TSM) some time ago that it would be great if it could do the same via MF. The guy there said he would look into it and said it would be possible but Ive never heard anything back. Would this be possible? Or can pretty much any staking plan be built via MF6 alone. Im interested in the Lay Kelly staking plan that is outlined here  http://www.thestakingmachine.com/laykelly.php

Cheers
Andy

They have some great staking plans, I enjoy reading their materials. In fact several trigger examples for MF Pro were based on their articles (we referred to the corresponding pages on their web site).

As for the Kelly plan, I can make an example for that one, but where do we take the "Strike Rate" figure? Shall we set it to 0.85, like in the example?

Strike rate figure should come from an odds compiler or input from user. It is the propability of player 1 to win. Unfortunately this staking plan  can be used only if you are able to calculate strike rate (=propablilty to win) for a given match on your own and this strike rate is realistic than market odds.

As a good approach strike rate should be around 1/odd, unless there are informations around which are not yet known to public (or public information is not yet known to you).

That's exactly what I mean Martin: without the realistic strike rate there will be little use of the whole staking plan.  ???

Hi,

Thanks for the reply OXA, I look forward to your example. Can you let me know when its done so I can have a play.  ;D

I suppose as long as you can set the strike rate expectation and a divisor to keep stakes up or down it should work.

It would be great to have the whole bunch of these staking plans to play with . The other one I have used which works niceley with some strategies is the Lay Percentage with a Ratchet mode. Is there a working example of this?

Thanks Andy
