Video Lessons - What would you like to learn?
« on: 16 Mar 2010, 10:40 »
I've realised the acute need to start creating video manuals in addition to the technical breakdown of MF Pro's functions, as some people are having hard time understanding where to start.

So, I need your opinions and suggestions as to what areas of the program are the least clear to you, what particular "MF Pro skills" you would like to develop and what topics lack information.

Obviously, it's hard for me to guess on my own as MF Pro is our baby and I know everything about it, so help me out with your propositions!

So far we have the following requests, apart from those that can already be found on the web site:

1. One-click betting
2. Applying a staking plan to one's trigger.
3. Explaining the difference between "Any Selection's" and "Fitting Selection's".
4. Explaining how the buttons in the "Trigger Conditions" window work.

What would you like to learn?

I would like to learn write winnig trigger with at least 150% ROI per day.  ;)

To contribute to your poll in a serious way, I would prefer a series of lessions with a increasing level. There are some video lessons of other trading software in youtube around. Lessions should be short (only some minutes), whenever possible with live video feed or ticker

First lession: how to trade with MFPro One klick betting or ladder interface manually.

Second lession use greenout, spread loss, ....

Third lession: write a trigger and show trigger in action.

Excellent idea Oxa!

I have some problems with Applying Staking Plans. A video that shows how you implement Staking Plans to your already made triggers and what kind of settings(settle markets etc) you must have to work this correct

Hi,

I would have found it useful to get an appreciation of the logic of setting up triggres.  For example, it took me ages to realise that, in the conditions, there is difference between clicking "Add Condition" to the left of the trigger, and in the green banner at the top of the block.  Hence I often used to get the error saying that the AND/NOT etc operators were not consistent.

Also a clear understanding of when to use "Any Selection" or "Fitting Selection" and the consequences of these different actions.

Hi ,

Sorry -I posted this first in the X-feeder section wrongly.
This is just a suggestion to improve  your already excellent improvements on
   starting -up.

The new trigger-using video is great but it still slightly rushes over the
crucial part (for me anyway)-the actually importing-in deployment of each trigger.

Three things :1)  it's not clear that you have to SAVE to deploy . Why not `save for immediate use now'?-`Save' could be just `save in the computer somewhere',.

Also 2) you right-click, bring up all triggers from the trigger list -but it doesn't say what to do if you have your trigger saved in your pc or desk-top and when the card of triggers comes up, it's not clear how to pick ONE trigger out of the card (OK you delete the ones you don't want to use-but unclear).

   3) Then, presumably to save it for the race, you click on that green bulb-which itself isn't that clear as an indicator that it's working- nowhere does it say the bot is definitely intending to  deploy that trigger.

Could it be made clear for total newbies that the Bot is going to do exactly what
one has spent ages trying to fine-tune in one's new trigger instructions? Remember, it's hard enough getting the nuances of binary instructions right on the trigger-if we don't know if it's working or not it's frustrating.......

Yesterday my hedge on Fav at 1.5 trigger didn't seem to get out of bed, no idea if
it was deployed or the run-in was too fast or what. A word on whether hedging actually works in play or not might be helpful..........Maybe an extra thing to say it's TRYING to do what it's supposed to do would be huge.

Finally any chance of sound on the instruction videos? Getting better and better all the same, you de boffs! :)

Not at all complaining -brilliant piece of kit.

Very best   Brakespeares is the best

Chaz, wow! Many thanks for the loads of food for reflection! It's totally important to see the program from a non-programmer's, user's perspective.

A couple of remarks and counterquestions:

   3) Then, presumably to save it for the race, you click on that green bulb-which itself isn't that clear as an indicator that it's working- nowhere does it say the bot is definitely intending to  deploy that trigger.

Usually you can't be sure that a trigger will ever work, unless it doesn't have conditions or its conditions are always true. So the bot can't be sure about that either. But bringing up the list of triggers by clicking on the bottom bar you can see which triggers have a chance of being executed. Normally, any trigger at all can be, except for those whose "Execute" field is set to "never".

Could it be made clear for total newbies that the Bot is going to do exactly what
one has spent ages trying to fine-tune in one's new trigger instructions? Remember, it's hard enough getting the nuances of binary instructions right on the trigger-if we don't know if it's working or not it's frustrating.......

I didn't quite understand this part. What do you mean by binary instructions?

Yesterday my hedge on Fav at 1.5 trigger didn't seem to get out of bed, no idea if
it was deployed or the run-in was too fast or what.
Have you checked that trigger's logs?

Finally any chance of sound on the instruction videos? Getting better and better all the same, you de boffs! :)
I would love to do a narrative, but being a foreigner I have quite a noticeable accent. So I'm not sure if it'll be helpful or whether everyone will understand what I say.  :-[

 :)

Hi Oxa,

Thank you very much indeed for replying, sorry I didn't get back quicker -I was stranded on a Ryanair delay /Volcano holiday......

So maybe that's right... the bottom bar will show which trigger is being used .Thanks.
I'll check it out.

What I meant by `binary' -I was perhaps using the wrong term...I mean a clear switch stating `trigger in use' (or not -ie trigger on or off).
Then it's clear -but again,, this could be me Newbie not quite understanding.

About your accent we LOVE accents! Thery're interesting to the Brits!
If you can write such excellent English ,I'm sure you'd only make very few mistakes on a an audio video.... go for it!

Or I'll try to record it for you if you give me the script (mind you, some explaining might be necessary)
