Interested in further info re Time Machine
« on: 27 Jun 2014, 23:38 »
Hi,
I have watched the videos re Time Machine and find the method
of testing models quite interesting.
I am curios to know the following:
1) To test a model for profitability one needs a few thousand events.
Is there a way of locating tennis matches with say $8,000 matched volume
prior to the start of the event ?
2) Any rough idea how many matches are in the database (without any volume filter)?
3) What is the maximum number of tennis events could one load at any one time?
4) How many years does the data go back?
5) Are there any volume discounts available from MFP ?
Many thanks
R

1) Not yet. We are preparing Market Locator for the Time Machine.
2) Here
3) Depending on your computer power and refresh rate.
4) Tennis from Feb 2014 when we got BetFair license
5) Unfortunately we can't afford it as we just resell BetFair's license and they don't have such discount.

Hi Tim,

I guess from your answers whilst market locator is not yet functional one could filter out events using the condition block of the trigger.
example
matched volume equal or greater than x
and market's name does not contain ..... etc.
As for Q3 the computer I'll be using is a Dell T7500 workstation which has 24GB ram and if records go back only to Feb 2014 then I'd say that would be sufficient Having said that, the number of tennis matches on file amount to 5857 according to the link you kindly provided. Quite a reasonable sized sample.
Thanks for your feedback and I will subscribe early in July.

That's an overkill. Anyways, I'm crossing my fingers on Market Locator.

Hi mithcd,
Yes I agree for normal use with MFP....This spec was designed for another project.
I've decided to use it as it is sitting around collecting cobwebs :)

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
