Problems
« on: 07 Sep 2014, 17:01 »
Hi All
Having a lot of problems with Time Machine. I have attached one simple example. The win bet should fire (it does) after which there will be a  matched back bet, which should satisfy the simple conditions of a place bet (number of matched back bets > 0 etc) and fire off a place bet as a saver. Can someone have a look at the two screenshots. I may be going mad but they are so simple that I can't see what I am doing wrong but place bets never fire only win bets.

On a slightly more complicated level, the user variables don't seem to work as they should. Defining a user variable as applying individually to each market doesn't usually work at all even when one re-initialises the value to zero at the start of every block and I still have to add a suffix such as market_id to get MF Pro to realise that it's not a global variable. Even then, if I have used the same name (let's say bigbet_market_id) for several different blocks then the use variable may completely stop working for a particular trigger block. It seems MF Pro gets confused between blocks where the same user variable names have been used even though they are plainly stated as applying individually to each market.

Ed

Hi
On your first question, you need to use winplace_ prefix to link win and place markets. Please see the attached screenshot which shows the basics of what you are trying to do. You can add your own conditions / amounts etc.

It will back selections in the Place market that have one or more matched back bets in the Win market.

Note each trigger's Market's field and the use of winplace_ in the condition that refers to the other market.
Please read the following disclaimer with regards to the information you may request and obtain on our forum. This specifically concerns trigger files and various instructions as to how to implement a strategy.

Hi eeldergill,

Time Machine should not change the behaviour of your triggers, it just feeds the prices and market data from a different source, it does not change the logic.

So if some of your triggers are not working as expected, the general advices are applicable:

Trigger stopped working
Always try your triggers in Test Mode before switching to real money!

Hi Mark
Thanks for your reply which has solved the problem of e/w betting. I knew all about winplace or so I thought, but had never realised that a back place bet was not the same as a back win bet, since the manual describes backnum as all back bets on a selection and doesn't distinguish between win and place bets, so many thanks for taking the time to reply.

I think the blog just explains it nicely. I never knew that the triggering check box actually exists. Thanks again.
