A simple question I hope
« on: 14 Dec 2021, 08:10 »
Can someone explain the difference between volume and market_volume. I thought volume was the percentage traded on a particular horse against the whole market. Eg: 10,000 of a market total 100,000 would be 10%. I wrote a trigger on this basis and trialled it in Time machine and then live and it profited (accidently by the looks) but i cant work back the selections on what I thought it was.

Upon more research, it seems I had wanted market_volume which I now think is the percentage traded against the market.

Can someone help with this?

Hi
Your original description is correct.
volume: is a selection variable which is the selections market percentage of total volume traded in the market
market_volume: is a market variable which is total volume traded in the market
