Acting towards the end of the race in Metres

I have been looking at the example trigger at https://marketfeeder.co.uk/learn/triggers/acting-towards-end-of-race/
This works for UK/Ireland races but not for races where the length of the race is named in Metres.
Could you tell me the equivalent for for this code in Metres please?  It will be rather a long IF statement to have imperial and metric.  Is there another way to contain the algorithm outside of a large IF statement?
