AvB markets
« on: 23 Sep 2015, 05:20 »
I'm happy to make this a trigger request if necessary, but really just need advice on how to access two markets in the one trigger. I couldn't find a trigger example to assist me.

In the AvB markets, I want to back the runner with the best last form figure (say).

As I understand this, it would require a trigger to access the win market to see the form figures, and then another trigger to place the bet in the AvB market.

Can anyone assist please?

The AvB market does not have a fixed prefix you can use to access it, so you'll need a standard workaround we used to have before the prefixes had been introduced. It is about remembering the set of selections from one market, under a name that is common to both markets, then using it in the other market.

I'll draft an example when they put up first AvB markets later today.

Here are your triggers. Trickier than I originally thought, but feasible nonetheless.

Thanks Oxa.

The time difference makes it difficult to respond quickly, but just bear with me while I ask a couple of basic (stupid) questions, please.

No changes to settings are necessary?

The markets to open will need to be:

Win markets and
AvB markets

only?

Can that be done through market locator or must it be done manually?

I think that is all.

Thanks again for your assistance.

I believe not.

Win markets and
AvB markets

only?

That's right.

Can that be done through market locator or must it be done manually?

Of course it can be done through Market Locator, see the search template attached.

It's a special file which can be opened inside Market Locator only.

Yes, thanks. You can tell I am a tech genius.

I had already done that, as your example showed. The reason for my question about settings was that with both markets ticked in market locator, it only listed the win markets - no AvB markets. When I unticked win markets - leaving AvB only- it listed the AvB markets. So I assumed I needed to adjust my settings in some way. Hence the question.

I have tried it again today, and the same thing happened. I made sure that AvB markets were available on Betfair.

The only way I seem to be able to load both win and AvB markets at the same time is to call up AvB through market locator and then manually tick win markets in the choose markets option in the main screen.

I fully acknowledge that I may be doing something wrong, but if I don't ask the question, I will continue bumbling about.

Your assistance will of course be greatly appreciated.

It's my turn to fully acknowledge... a bug in Market Locator. Embarrassing, will fix it asap.

Sorry, nobody meant to sound condescending in this thread, I just needed as much clarity as possible. So next time you stumble upon something in MF Pro, you can just say "X is not working with me" or "I expect Y to do Z, why doesn't it?". It does not matter if it's something in the settings - somebody else might be looking exactly for the same thing.

Anyway, thanks for pointing to this bug. As a temporary workaround I suggest searching for Win and AvB markets separately.

No, no, no - please don't apologise. Your assistance on the forum is above and beyond anything I expect.

I am a lifetime member of MFP (I think my first version was 1.4), but because I am not particularly tech savvy, there is no way I fully comprehend the capabilities of this brilliant software.

I really appreciate your patience with an oldie like me.
