  • Hi everyone

    I'm trying to work out how to avoid my trigger betting when the prices fluctuate wildly just after a runner has been withdrawn in the minute leading up to the off in a horse race. I thought minutes since last suspension is equal or greater than 0.25 would work, but no joy as the trigger doesn't fire when I add that condition.  I assume this is because in the 2 minutes before the race when I monitor the market there is rarely a suspension, so last suspension would come up as null.

    Anyone got any clues?

  • Good one Armani,

    How about recording the number of runners and then checking that number hasnt changed in the 2 minutes?

  • Hi larp

    Thanks for the useful suggestion. My problem is I don't mind that a runner is withdrawn, I just want to avoid the price turmoil in the 15 seconds after the withdrawal that can play havoc with one of my triggers.  Your solution would let me know that a runner had been withdrawn,  but not let me avoid the price fluctuations.

  • Ah well then the only other thing that comes to mind is maybe the BB% and LB%?

    Would they differ greatly for a few moments?

    Sry but thats all I have right now.

  • Thanks Larp

    Yes, that's a great idea, I'll use an expression like lay book % is greater than 95% to make sure that the market is properly formed again.

    Thanks for your help

  • Hi, maybe a volatility-indicator culd be useful (used by finance traders).

    VI=(MaxPrice-MinPrice)/Price

    you need to have a time frame that suits your needs. A smal VI iwould indiciate a stable markets (rater obvious I suppose).
