  • Hi,

I would like to have a trigger made to allow me to back selections from (preferably), an excel spreadsheet I create. If that's not an option, a text file will do.
Once the selection has been backed, I then want to be able to have the trigger green up, based on ticks below the backed price.
I want to keep the lay bet going in play. I want to be able to distribute the loss based on ticks, if it isn't able to green up.
I want to use a bank size, and I want to be able to make my back stake based on a percentage of the bank.
I would like the trigger to stop if it reaches a certain loss percentage of my bank - see condition below.
I would also want to be able stop the trigger, once a set percentage of my starting bank has been made, BUT, I would like the trigger to only check based on the bets that have been placed throughout the strategy, and ignore all other strategies that I may be running in a separate MFP profile - I appreciate this may be difficult to achieve....

I want to be able to change the following in constants...

Time before the off to place the back bet
    Bank Size
    Percentage of bank stake
    Green-up ticks
    Loss ticks
    gain made
    loss made

    Thanks

    Mark.

  • Hi mcbee,

there is only a single selection.

I do want to revise my criteria, but can't figure out how to do that. Maybe I will ask for another one, with a revised criteria

    Thanks

  • hi
here is your trigger,in the constants you can set.
    Bank amount to bet with
    Percent of bank to bet
Minutes before the start time to place the bet
    Green up ticks
    Distribute loss ticks
Percent of days starting bank to stop betting profit
Percent of days starting bank to stop betting loss

you will need to alter the file location when you first run the trigger.
please note that due to the way the statement and betfair do the profit calculations, the trigger bank amount could be a few pence difference.

please use test mode until you are happy with your settings

  • hi mcbee,

Thanks for the trigger. It doesn't seem to be doing what I asked for?

I just tried it just now, and it placed its first bet with £20 stake. I hadn't adjusted anything in the constants, so it was supposed to be betting at 1% of £100 - so, I would expect it to place a £1 stake?

It placed the correct lay stake, fine...

The race started, and the price stayed high, and didnt meet the greenup price, but no stop loss kicked in and the original lay bet stayed...

    See image

    Thanks

  • hi
i have tested the trigger again and it works as it should.
please check that the bank1 amount is set to 100
and alter your refresh rates to
    idle refresh  0.20
    in-play refresh  0.20
when in-play the prices move very quick.

  • hi mcbee,

I tried it today, and it hasn't placed a single bet.

I am using another profile/trigger, using the same selections, and their bets have been placed.

The only item I have changed in the trigger, is the selections file, everything else is as you programmed it.

Ideally I would like to disable the exit on profit/loss, because, if I am totally honest, I don't think MFP has the capability to separate strategies' profits out, so the exit strategy is deemed useless here because I use multiple strategies, some live, some test, and if the strategy exits one some other strategies win/loss, then the exit condition for that particular strategy, even though it has not been met, will still exit when it sees the profit/losses - hence, the need to disable it.

All my other triggers are working fine, but this one isn't.

I know you have said it works fine on yours, and I need you to understand that I have nothing to gain by adjusting it - I simply want it to do as I need, i.e. place a back bet, place a greenup lay bet, place a stop loss bet if the greenup isn't reached.

I have looked through the trigger you created, and the logic looks right - although, as you have pointed out, my lack of knowledge doesn't qualify me to confirm that.

So, I am a little stuck..

Not sure I understand what you are asking for here?

    Screenshot of my betting options?

You wrote the trigger, the only item I have changed in this is what you advised, i.e. the selections file location. So all the items are what you setup... I tested it 'as-is', and will only look to change anything once it works.

If you want something different, then can you tell me exactly how to get this info.

    Thanks
