best place to start with a trigger
« on: 30 Jun 2018, 14:53 »
hi all

back to using market feeder after being away for probably 10 years, so suspect my learning curve is going to be hard!

Im wanting to make a trigger that

1.backs a selection from a text file to BSP
2.lays that selection in running at odds of 2.0 of 5 times the original bet stake

then another trigger that
1.backs a selection from a text file to BSP
2.lays that selection in running at odds of 1.0 lower than the BSP for same stake

which are good trigger examples I could look at to get up to speed?

thanks!

Hello and welcome back!

You can start with some video tutorials:

How to generally load triggers and run them:

How to import selections from a text file:

Trigger examples on SP betting:

https://marketfeeder.co.uk/learn/triggers/by-tag/tags/sp-bets/

Tons of trigger examples here, on this forum:

And of course you can have your triggers made by one of us by posting a trigger request under the dedication forum section:

Ok so making good progress.

question about how formula builder works with nestled calculations, hopefully someone can help

Attached screenshot of trigger

I want to back at betfair starting price
I then want to lay at price of 1.5 a liability of 25% of the potential return

so lets say actual_sp is 10.0. (so a potential return of £100 or -£10)

In running I want a lay half of the potential return at price of 1.5 (so lay £50 at 1.5)

Does the Amount of "back_size*actual_sp/2" give me what I would need?

Is that correct?  Or do I need to nestle the calculation in the amount formula?

Or am I overcomplicating this, when theres a simpler way to do it?!!

thanks!

Yes, your formula is correct.

Not sure what you mean by nestled calculations. If you mean multiple parentheses and complex arithmetic expressions, then yes, MF Pro does support them.

However, back_size*actual_sp/2 is just as good as (back_size*actual_sp)/2.
