  • Good Afterrnoon,

is it possible to run 2 different stratergys on MFP at the same time.

That is I want to run 2 different triggers on 2 different events totally independent of each other on the same day.

    All the best.

  • Hi
    You certainly can.
Either use a separate Profile (make sure you adjust the data requests if you do this) or
you can use both triggers in one trigger file using the Markets field and variables to separate your strategies.

  • Thank you for your reply.

Can you please instruct me as to how I can set up 2 profiles?

Also if running 2 profiles can I run one in Test Mode & one with real money?

    All the best.

  • john, all you need to do to set a new profile is to bring
up profile and click on green button (+) and name
your new profile and login as usual.

  • Thanks for your help r.

I have created 2 new profiles in the drop down box when you log into MFP.

I have loaded my selections and set my trigger for my first stratergy.

How do I exit my first stratergy profile and load my second stratergy profile without effecting the selections and trigger I have just loaded for my first stratergy?

    All the best.

  • hi
    a profile is a bot.
so profile 1 is strategy 1 bot (just a name), you select this when you start mfp
then you load in your triggers etc, this will now load all the triggers every time you login with this profile, all you have to do is change the selection every day.
you then login with strategy 2 bot (just a name) and do the same.
you will now have 2 profiles/bots running.

  • Thank you for your reply.

So I have loaded my first strategy under "profile 1".

Do I now close MFP, then reopen MFP, Login again but this time under "profile 2 " and load my 2nd stratergy selection and triggers?

And then I can leave MFP open at this point and both stratergys will run during the day?

    All the best.

  • hi
    do not close mfp.
just do what you did to open profile 1, but this time choose profile 2.

  • Sorry. I'm not sure how to get from 'Profile 1' to Profile 2' without closing the program and logging in again.

Please advise how I move from profile to profile without closing the program.

    All the best.

  • hi,
Keep your existing MFP running and open another copy of MFP
the way you normally do. At the login screen type a new profile
name, something that you will remember, then log in as normal.
You will now have two copies of MFP running.
    That should work

  • hi
    to run profile 1
double left click on the desktop icon named Run MarketFeeder Pro 7.
where it says Settings profile select profile 1.
    login to betfair as normal.
do your daily input of markets and selections
minimize the bot screen using the icon at the top right corner of the bot screen.
    to run profile 2
double left click on the desktop icon named Run MarketFeeder Pro 7.
where it says Settings profile select profile 2.
    login to betfair as normal.
do your daily input of markets and selections
now you have 2 profiles running, so all you do is maximize the profile that you want to look at.
NOW, if you want to simplify your daily startup without having to choose the profile and type your login details, just open the settings options.
left click the mouse where it says generate command command line
left click the mouse where it says create shortcut
    select desktop
where it says file name type profile 1     (the name of your profile)
    click save
you will now have an icon for profile 1
do the same for each profile
then at the start of the day all you do is double click the profile icon that you want to use and it will start and login to betfair automatically.

ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON USING THE COMPUTER, because if person presses the profile icon it will login to betfair using your account.

  • Really Useful thread here - thanks all round. I have one further question if you'd be so kind mcbee?

I want to create one profile per race meeting - this is across dogs and horses.

    I am getting a warning sign which says;

You have already the following profiles of MarketFeeder Pro running:
    <Default>

Do you really want to open another one?
This may results in your exceeding Betfair's request limit as one copy of the program can't control the other.

Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it ok to have multiple profiles running throughout the day?

For your ref, I am running some Lay staking plans in test mode using minimum stakes. I am placing bets 45 secs before the off.

    thanks!

  • hi
yes it is ok to run more than 1 profile, but make sure that you alter the request limit to suit multiple profiles so that you do not get charged by betfair.
if you run 2 profiles then set the request limit to 12 on each profile, the warning is there to remind you.

  • Thanks mcbee

So if I were to run 3 profiles, should I set the request limit to 8? Or 4 profiles set it to 6 requests and so on...

Or can I run 2+ profiles if they all have the request limit set to 12?

    Thanks
    Jon
