  • Hi - I'm totally new to MFP, and would really appreciate some advice from the experts on the forum.

I am hoping that it is possible to use it to capture and write odds data to a file (CSV or Excel).

I am trying to compile a database of price and volume movements in the Barclays Premier League Fixtures Match odds markets, say at 10-minute intervals for the 24 hours preceding a game.

Ideally I would like to write a table with fields: Datetimestamp, Market ,Home team, Away team, Home Odds, Away Odds, Draw Odds

Data would be logged ideally 24-hours in advance of scheduled event_start, or at least as soon as the market is monitored if less than that. Logging can stop when the market goes In-play.

I would also like to grab the final result and somehow marry this up to the odds history. Perhaps I need to carry on logging during in-play at say 1-minute intervals and add the market_score1 and market_score2 variables to my output table?

I am aware that Betfair is not keen on high volumes of data calls (especially if not betting!) and so I hope that a 10-minute interval will not be too onerous.

Any help or suggestions on which functions or variables I should use would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks
    Simon

  • Hi Simon,

Unfortunately writing down the data that belongs to a settled market would be a breach to the BetFair's Historical Data Licence.

  • Hi,
I think in is better to capture data from http://txodds.com/oc.php?ot=0,  where movements are registered from 200+ bookmakers.
It is an old and valuable resource.

The rates for a subscription to TXODDS Pro are EUR 1000 for a year, EUR 600 for 6 months, or EUR 110 for 1 month.

  • Have you been to www.fracsoft.com
But at 68p a match would soon add up I'm sure.
