Drip Feed Betting
« on: 04 Apr 2013, 11:42 »
Hi

Am about to purchase the software and just wandered if anybody could let me know if it is capable of drip feeding into the market? For instance once one bet is matched another bet is then triggered to be placed until a set amount is reached.

Thanks in advance.

paul.

hi
yes
you would use bm_backa or bm_laya
the bm= bet matched
the bu= bet unmatched
the backa and laya = amount matched
so you could add a condition
and selections bu_backa is equal to 0
and selections trigger expression bm_backa is less than 5
result been the trigger will keep betting until the matched amount is 5.00 or more

Hi

Purchased the software and finding my feet with it but certainly a great bit of kit. I have managed to create a trigger based around Mcbee's advice. As with all automated scripts i suppose its covering all the conditions i need to fine tune. Any help i could got get would be very much appreciated and if anybody should want the file when its done i'll post it here.

In an ideal world i would like to do the following with the trigger. Submit a lay bet of a certain amount  at the best price but also specify a maximum laying price. Then monitor this price until the bet is matched. If the price is superseded wait for 5 minutes then cancel existing lay bet and resubmit at current top price. If the price is beyond the maximum lay price leave the bet in the queue at the maximum lay price. Once the bet is matched repeat cycles until all drip feed is done. I am ok with the drip feed part and thought i would just use the cancel then lay feature to compare the current lay price against the unmatched lay price but i cannot find a variable for the umatched lay price. Is this the correct way of trying to do it?

As for the leaving the bet in the queue if the maximum price is triggered that has just about fried my little brain and would appreciate any help at all with that one.

hi.

Are you trying to repeat lay at shortening odds whilst having an out bet at a certain lay price?

If this is the case, I would suggest you have a look at the following link, it is very informative about chasing drifters and steamers. You can certainly do what you have asked, I am sure some of the regulars on here will help.

Anyway, good luck

Thanks for taking time to reply LarpHager and for the useful link and help. I never explained very well what it is i am trying to do. I do not trade the horses but simply lay selected horses each day. Invariably the horses i look to lay drift in the market throughout the day. I typically lay liability to about £500 and because of this i cannot submit that in one lump in the early market where the odds are shorter. What i have noticed though is that in smaller lumps this liability could be matched overnight and early the next day before the price drifts to much. Hence i am looking to drip feed the lay bets into the system.

hi
here is a trigger for you to TEST.
it will drip lay on any selection that is active until the max amount is matched
so you can use import to choose your selection
or you can start the market with all selections are not active and the acivate the selection that you want.
alter the prices and amounts in the constants area only.

Thanks a lot mcbee as always amazingly helpful. I am trying to get up to speed as quick as poss but the help you provide people in the meantime is admirable.

I am on a fairly steep learning curve so just trying to understand what that file does so apologies if this all sounds dumb. I cant see from the file what looks at lay price tick and then cancels or updates bet? Would i be right in saying that this is just the drip feed part i was after?

A complete novice question but is market_ulnum the unique users total unmatched bets or the market in general.

Thanks again.

hi
it is a basic drip feed trigger.
you can add a trigger to cancel all unmatched bets after a certain time limit, the drip trigger will then resend a bet to be matched at the current price.
the  market_ulnum is the number of unmatched bets in the market been monitored.
if you cannot add the trigger, then say exactly what you want to do and it can be added.
