MOVED: hedge at sp lay trigger
« on: 01 Apr 2014, 10:37 »
Probably obvious,
but to try and get around the betfair minimum £2 stake rule, i am trying out a conditional back at £2 sp trigger on certain selections if the bsp is gtr than 10.  Then need to hedge with a lay at sp trigger,  but only if the bsp is greater than 10 how can i have an upper not lower limit?
thanks

Hi betfair winner
Lay in-play at actual_sp
condition: selections actual starting price is greater than 10
...but no guarantee it will get matched.

by the way, forum columns have changed around, you posted in X-Feeder. I'll move it.

Hi
You specified BSP is greater than 10. The BSP (actual_sp) is not known until the market turns in-play.
You could try something with near_sp or far_sp before the off.

thanks mark
yes the back at sp 10 or greater is a conditional bet that will be accepted when the sp is known. I assumed there was a way of doing this for the lay at sp bet.

Hi
I don't know how it can be done because in order to do to lay bet, the BSP needs to be known.

I just tried something using trigger backing number of runs per selection is greater than 0
and it does not work.
If I think of something I'll post back - sorry.

You can do it by entering a back bet at $21 and a lay bet at $20 .. both at SP.

This will give you a $1 back bet at SP.

The problem lies in that you can only set minimum odds for a back bet and can only set maximum odds for a lay bet. If you set these, there's a chance your lay will get matched, but your back won't. near and far SP are a guide and the actual sp maybe way off.

I would say wait till 20 seconds before the off and fire if your conditions are met at that point and hope for the best ... or increase your price to around 20 and then you're unlikely to get anything below 10.

Fortune favors the brave!
