Help with editing existing trigger
« on: 02 Sep 2014, 06:13 »
I want to stop my trigger betting when it has reached a certain profit target. I can do this it's easy.
My problem is I'm often using a manual strategy of betting on the same triggered markets and I can't split what the trigger is making from what the manual bets are doing in the same market.
Is there any way of achieving this? I mailed betfair and asked for a second account and they told me they don't let people open second accounts any more.

I am prepared to pay for this amendment. I need the trigger to track it's profit from only the bets it makes.

Hello,

I'm sorry but this can't be done, therefore I won't count this request towards your free quota.

This problem has been discussed before, in short, there is no way to tell which bet was placed by which trigger or procedure. The reason for this is that any bet you're sending to BetFair can change all of its parameters when it reaches the exchange. E.g. it can be matched at a price different from what you offered, it can be split into several parts with different IDs, partly matched, etc.

Thus the program can't store neither the ID, nor the price/amount of the bet its posting, and so it can't later differentiate between the bets placed manually and those placed by a trigger.
Always try your triggers in Test Mode before switching to real money!

For what it's worth, thank for you for being transparent on this.
Automatic isn't always everything.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
