identifying multiple selections by name
« on: 08 Feb 2015, 16:54 »
Hi

Because I was struggling to identify the selection I wanted my tennis triggers to work on I started to include the name of the player in the conditions in order to make it work when I wanted and on who I wanted. The triggers now works fine but I have to input the names of the players before each match. Now this isn't a problem per se but what I really want to do is load multiple matches and therefore multiple names in to the same trigger.

So an example of one trigger is a back bet at 1.80 if - {conditions} - Selection's Back Price is equal or greater than 1.70 and Selection's Name contains Kuznetsova.

Is there any way I can include another name say Bertens in the same trigger to make sure it works on the next match if the conditions are met rather than having to physically change Kuznetsova to Bertens?

Cheers

Insted of contains you can use "is in list" or "is in file". If using in  file then you do not have to change the trigger (only update the file with new names).

You can read more in help file : http://marketfeeder.co.uk/download/MF8_manual_eng.pdf

Ok great!

The manual gives an example of numbers used 'in the list' separated by commas so I'm assuming it works the same for names.

You can just type the names in cells in the lefthand column of a spreadsheet, then do save as file type .txt

Then point the trigger to that file you have saved.

so for example players_1.txt  then you can save other selections, in other files and always save the file in that name for the day.  If you check the box Reread File in the condition it will re-look at the file every time it runs so you can even re-edit the file of names during play, without touching MF pro.  (I do find this a bit dodgy sometimes and cannot get it to start firing on a new days selections without closing the platform and restarting it.)

It works fine using the quotation marks but I want to try the .txt file route but am having a problem with an error message saying I don't have permission to save in this location. I am trying to save in the marketfeeder 8 file so how can I get round this?

Cheers
