Inspiration for the New Year
« on: 27 Dec 2014, 17:02 »
Hi everyone,

Its that time of the year to reflect on how we are doing in life and how best to improve our lot in the coming year. I wonder if any of you could share some new year resolutions that could help us all. My main one being to stay away from thin markets and look for opportune entry and exit points in matches.
We can be assured MFP is by far the best automated piece of software available today and backed by a team of experts.
Here is an inspirational video that hopefully will help keep us all motivated towards reaching our goals. Billy Walters is considered a genius by most professional betting gurus.

Wishing you a Trigger Happy New Near Everyone

 :) Nice One Racepro.

My main aim come January 1st will be to stick to one strategy until it either succeeds or fails. I have way too much going on come race time/mid-afternoon.

9 am    import selections from a new tipster(whom I have great hopes for), my horse database and from a not-overly known naps table I follow and others that may pop up.

10.30 am   run my greyhounds trigger from 11am until I reach my target profit, then STOP!!!!!

Re-run my pre-race dutching strategy until it works properly.
Re-run my greening strategy until it works properly.

And finally, STOP F***IN ABOUT WITH QUICK SCALPS, IN-RUNNING HEDGES AND BETTING AGAINST THE TRENDS.

If all that goes to plan, I will bring you over to Cheltenham in March ;)

Larp

Larp, I concur with the stopping of quick scalps.
Look forward to Cheltenham :)

This is not a New Year's resolution, but a site I would recomend is "Oddsportal.com".

Looks a nice site Tupp, I looked at a couple of markets and they bet to 105% which is about par for a bookie site. However the site chooses best of 3 prices which equates to around the Betfair say 100.5%. Are you using this site ? I suppose they close winning accounts even for small regular wins like onshore here, I take it they are mostly UK bookies registered offshore ? They are handy sites to have when Betfair don't have a market or a thin one at best.

I'd like to be able to increase the stakes for my trades whilst maintaining profitability and turn moderate gains into life changing gains.

Funnily enough, that was last year's wish too!!

Now, where did I put that Holy Grail?

(PS: and to put my daily results into the cumulative spreadsheet every night - it took me hours yesterday to catch up from early November!!)

Yes I use the site (mainly the statistics from 3000 registrede punters),  but I don't do any arbitrage betting.

Tupp, I couldn't find any info on statistics or registered punters. Do I need to register first ?
This coming year I would like to gather as much data as possible on football so as to formulate my own statistics. Do you or anyone know of some good sites for collecting data that you can recommend ? I do realise there are lots out there, but I'm unsure of the content and reliability. Also a good forum or two.
Many Thanks
HNY to all

You need to register an account so see how other punters have been betting.

If you don't want to register you can anyway use the statistics, for some ligues it goes back 1999. You can see all the bookmakers odds and and the results of each match, and the standings (table) for each year and formtable (5 weeks).

http://www.oddsportal.com
http://www.soccerstats.com

PS. In my experience , it takes some time to discover all the features at each sites respectivly, you have to give it some time.

Tupp et al,

You might want to consider adding this site to your collection.
It is primarily a tipping one but always a good idea to compare
ones own selections with that of the top tipsters for their region and
favourite sport. The 'about us' link is a good starting point

Have any of you other links you could suggest ?
Helpful if we could share info.
Thanks.

It has the data in a text format  :), but it looks like it's only a few Leagues that's available?

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
