Hi,  I need a trigger that will do the following for laying in UK dog races only.

1. I would like to lay on different traps at different meetings.
2. If the bet lost recover the loss over a number of races.
3. Use a percentage of the current bank for the next bet.

1. I would like to lay different traps at different meetings.
The reasoning behind this betting strategy is the trap statistics at different meetings so to explain this better you will need to follow this link greyhoundstats.co.uk/track_stats.php and use the drop downs to filter the stats firstly by year 2016 and graded races only will show you that at BelleVue trap 6 had 2612* runs and only won 394* of them with a 15.1% strike rate, so if you were to lay trap 6 your win strike rate would be 84.9%

Now if you look at the last 28 days for BelleVue trap 2 with 221* runs and won 32* of them has a 14.5% strike rate and trap 6 has gone up to a 15.8% strike rate, looking at the last 14 days shows that trap 3 has a strike rate of 12.7% and trap 6 has a 14.3% strike rate.

* Note: these figures will be slightly different because the results are updated daily.

So the trigger would need to identify the meeting and lay on the specified trap depending on the meeting. Obviously I would be able to change the trap numbers at the different meetings depending on the strike rates whenever they changed or leave them at the default values that would be taken over a years results so for example

BelleVue Trap 6
Crayford Trap 5
Doncaster Trap 3
HallGreen Trap 4
etc etc.

2. If the bet lost recover the loss over a number of races.
So when the bet lost I want to spread the loss over the next say 4 races and I have lost £10 + original stake say £1 I would need to place £2.75 + percentage of the current bank over the next 4 races. If the bet lost again within the 4 races the remaining loss + the new loss would be added together and a new cycle would begin. If the bet won the next 4 races and all losses are recovered then the next bet would  be a percentage of the current bank again.

So can you help me on this? I will be away from the 31st March until the 7th April so any correspondence in that time will be answered on or after the 7th.

Regards,
Malcolm.

Hello!

Would you be able to compile a text file with the list of selections you want to lay every day in the following format:

[Greyhound race name]Selection name

E.g.:

["Greyhound - Todays Card / 10:53 Trar (AU) - R11 315m Gr5"]"1. Harvey Leigh"
["Greyhound - Todays Card / 11:00 Nowr (AU) - R4 520m Gr5"]"2. Buddy The Weapon"
["Greyhound - Todays Card / 11:03 Shep (AU) - R1 450m Final"]"4. Sure To Excite"

If not, would you be able to instead modify a certain set of variables every day, whereby you would specify the list of races you would be betting in: "Shep", "Sheff", "HGrn" (note that the notation should be identical to Betfair's) and the corresponding trap number for each of them?

Hi Oxa,

Of the above the second option would be the best for me. Could a trigger be developed on a "If Then" situation so the format would be something like

if HGrn then trap = 6
if Swin then trap = 4
if Monm then trap = 2
if Sheff then trap = 4
f Nott then trap = 2
if Yarm then trap = 1
if Romfd then trap = 2

The above is just for todays racing but the trigger would also have all the other meetings with the trap numbers as above then all I would need to do would be to change the trap numbers if they needed changing.

Hello!

I am attaching triggers designed as per your instructions. Use the constants to adjust the triggers, e.g. the size of bet or the length of the loss recovery cycle.

Now the triggers will only check for 5 types of races (by the name of the corresponding venue) as there is a limit to the number of settings you can order for a free trigger. If you require to key in more venues, you will have to pay extra 6 GBP, so that we could compile the full list of venues and add them all to the triggers.

You can change the names of these 5 venues in the constants. Also, you can figure out how to add new venues on your own, by looking at the laying trigger's conditions.

Hi Oxa,

Many thanks for the trigger, I had been struggling for weeks trying to figure out how to do it, its easy when you see how its done and I have managed to add all the venues and the triggers and it is all working great.

Many thanks,
Malcolm.

The triggers already contain a loss recovery.
