Market Locator and Triggered Betting
« on: 09 Jul 2020, 14:15 »
Hi,
I have a market locator file set up that pulls all the soccer games where the volume is over 1000 and I have a trigger file that uses both the over/under markets and the correct score.

If the market locator only pulls the correct score market into my markets for a game will the trigger still action any requests on the over under markets even though they are not in my markets?
Thanks!

Hi
All the markets that triggers reference or bet in need to be in My Markets and refreshing.

Thanks. Unless I'm missing something this means that for cross market triggers market locator doesn't work too well as if I specify only soccer markets with a volume over say £1000 then it will only bring the markets over that have over £1000 and could leave behind a market that is also part of the strategy. If I leave the volume qualification out entirely it means that I have to filter within my triggers on volume which means that the market locator beings across in some cases hundreds of games a day meaning that market feeder runs on VPS like an absolute dog.

Any suggestions on the best way around this please?

You are right. The best way to do that filter is to bring the markets into my markets, and then use triggers to delete markets that are unsuitable for your strategy. Example you could modify in this article
or
you could limit the number of football games being traded at one time

Thanks Mark, I think the solution is to manually reduce the games in my market, but that defeats the object of being able to auto load games using market locator if I manually have to go through the games and see which ones don't have the correct volume in both markets. It also means I cannot pull in games on an hourly basis that match my criteria. It would be nice if in market locator you could define the market that you want a condition to occur against and then you could define for example bring across match odds where betting has reached £1000 volume but also bring across all the under/over 2.5 goals working on the assumption that a match that has attracted betting interest will probably generate enough liquidity in some of the more commonly traded markets while in play.

Hello!

You can add some conditions to the Market Locator search template to narrow down the list of markets to be loaded.

However, they cannot be too complex because to check various market information, you need to request that information from the server, which means you are actually trying to refresh thousands of markets while searching for the ones you need. BetFair will certainly not be happy about this, and that's the main reason we've limited the number of markets you can have in the program.

You will have to find a workaround, e.g. look for all Match Odds, Correct Score and Over/Under markets but within the next hour only, and then use the scheduled market search to look for new markets every hour.
