Multiple instances with EXCEL
« on: 31 Jan 2013, 13:40 »
Hello is there any possibility to run two feeder instances , each connected to different excel that I have previously opened (i have macros and codes inside excel, I canot accept a  new , blank excel to be connected, but 2 specific ones)

When I tried opening 2 excels and 2 feeders both feeder.exe would connect to the same excel.

The only way I managed it was to create a 2nd windows account and remote desktop to it from your main account. Then run one on both.
This might not be possible with your OS to run multiple remote desktops. But there is a hack.

Thanks for the response !

:)  thought of that but wanted to know if there is another solution.... maybe it would be a good suggestion for Tim and Oxa. I think it would be a nice option to chose the excel file browsing for it ....

Another thing : maybe mfeeder could handle cell editing while connected to excel ...(it quits feeder if caught you "red-handed" while trying to send info to excel at the same time (and if you are connected to an excel file having the refresh to 0.2 and editing ANOTHER excel, you're DONE, it closes "unexpectedly" ...)

Another hack I thought of was opening a NEW INSTANCE of excel when mfeeder asked about it... and copy and paste the code into the new excel, but it would be a pain
I will remain with the rdp on the same station with the hacks I have to do on windows for it to acccept it.. :( hence the vulnerabilities for my machine :(

Tim ... Oxa please take it into consideration ....
