  • Hi
Could you build a trigger for Australian Horse Racing for me please.

Dutch Back first two favorites if the sum of the first two favorites is less than the price of the third favorite at 30 seconds before the jump.

Price of the first favorite must be greater than $2.

    All the best.

  • hi
    here is your trigger.
in the constants you can set
    bet amount
    minimum favourite price
minimum time to place the bet
maximum time to place the bet

the trigger checks the first and second favourite prices and if lower than the third favourite price, a dutch bet will be placed on the first and second favourite, if the favourites price is equal or greater than your set price.

please use test mode until you are happy with your settings

  • Thank you for your prompt assistance.
Would you mind explaining the "bet to lose figure" in the constants.
You have it set at 2.
In my instructions to you I asked for the trigger to dutch back the first 2 favs if they met the criteria.
All the best and thanks again. I have been using MF for 12 months now and found it a wonderful tool.

  • Hi
still having a couple of teething problems with the trigger you kindly supplied.

    1. It seems to  bet random amounts. Bet To Lose Figure set to $100. However I cannot reconcile how it determines how much to bet on each qualifying selection.
    2. Often when running this trigger the market does not settle automatically. Sometimes it will settle if I do it manually. Sometimes when I settle manually it will say the bet lost when it won.

    Please advise.

you never asked for amount to win, if you want amount to win then change the dutch trigger to    amount to win
the markets are settled by betfair not the triggers.

  • Hi
I am still looking for clarification as to why the trigger bets random amounts.
I have the trigger set "bet to lose $100.
When the trigger fires I would like each bet to be a total o $100.
However when the trigger fires it bets a total of random amounts of $30 up to $100.
I tried to load the trigger log from yesterday as an example however I could not attach it in the correct format.
    All the best.

  • If you dutch bet with an amount to lose of 100, then the liability of all bets added together will equal 100.  The bet amounts are not random, they are calculated by the program.  Are you saying that the total amount of all bets varies between 30 & 100?  I can't see how that can happen unless an incorrect formula has been employed to calculate the dutch amounts.

  • Thank you for your reply.
The thing is the liability of all bets added together is rarely 100.
Yes I am saying the total of all bets varies from 30 to 100.

  • Just looked at trigger, no formula is used for dutching, so problem must be with the internal dutch function and I have never known that to fail.  I suggest you post your trigger logs demonstrating this random behaviour.   Don't need entire logs  - a screenshot of a typical occurrence will be fine.

  • Hi
In the trigger the Dutch back option is set to Adjust amounts. This means the bet amounts are automatically adjusted to the amounts on offer in the market.

If you want to bet the full amounts (and risk partial matches), change Adjust amounts to Bet full amounts.

  • Thank you.
Is it possible to had a condition that if a full bet is not possible (i.e no partial bets) then the trigger does not fire?

    Please check the following setting:
Settings > Test Mode > Download results from Betfair wherever possible and settle markets automatically
This should be the only option ticked on this page. Bear in mind possible delays in Betfair settling the market (photo / loss of pictures etc.) You can check if a market has been settled by Betfair - the results should available on the Recent Events Outcome button just to the right of the My Markets tab.
